Some of the top congressional Democrats blasting President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the U.S. Embassy there have in fact supported that very position in the past.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., penned a letter to the president last week, urging him not to move the embassy. Feinstein’s letter said the move would “spark violence, further alienate the United States and undermine the prospects of a two-state solution.”
“The future of Jerusalem is an issue that should be decided by Israel and the Palestinians, not unilaterally by the United States,” Feinstein wrote.

But Feinstein was among those who voted for a 1995 law passed by Congress that required “the relocation of the United States embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.” The measure also required the U.S. recognize the city as the capital of Israel.
That law, the Jerusalem Embassy Act, passed the Senate by a 93-5 margin. But it has never been implemented due to a loophole that allowed successive presidents – Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama – the option to issue waivers every six months to delay the embassy move.

Lest we forget, the Democrats are the ones that booed Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. And then they booed “God” in some manner, as I recall.

It amazes me the chance having been out there for nearly 70 years for these two parties to hash out their differences and having failed, a Democrat voices the idea that’s still the preferred method.

I will say, having watched what the Democrats have pushed for over the last five decades, it’s hard not to agree with your premise here.

Exactly. Never believe Schumer, and Pelosi, or even Perez are the leaders of the Democrat Party. They are only the lead mouthpieces of the true leadership hidden behind the curtain that hides a wall that hides a locked door.
Not only did they boo God. They removed mention of God and Jerusalem as the capital of Israel from their 2012 party platform. When Democrats realized that move wasn’t playing well in Peoria, they tried to put those two items back in the wording of the party platform.
Former LA Mayor Villaraigosa had the gavel. After calling for a voice vote on the motion to put God back in the party platform, it did not appear the motion had carried. After all, these were Democrat loyalists and hardliners.
Nevertheless, to avoid nasty repercussions, he declared the motion carried by a 2-1 margin. At that point the lefty grandma school teachers in tennis shoes and union thugs let out a lusty boo. Now Democrats are eternally on record booing God, although they might have been booing the mayor’s crook tactic.
