But there are two SEC teams in. What would the football world do it UGA played AL in the final game for national champs.... another SEC conference title game.... other conferences would go nuts.

Well, if they are going to have a stupid playoff, they had better expand the field to eight.

Have to agree as a Buckeye, not because Alabama is that good, they’re not, but Ohio State has been inconsistent and the Iowa debacle was inexplicable. The early loss to Oklahoma doesn’t mean that much, things happen so early on in the season. But fact is, they just eked out the win against Wisconsin and Barrett really looked average. OSU played sloppy and not championship caliber. They will get a nice bowl bid somewhere, and —better luck next year.

I would rather see Bama vs Clemson round 3 than Ohio State put there for ratings and lose 31-0 again.

Hugh Hewitt will be in rare form tomorrow (he's a serious OSU homer along with being a CINO). Could be entertaining...

Looks like the USC Trojans will be playing the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Cotton Bowl--Rose Bowl East.

Fight on, Trojans!

The bottom line is OSU’s loss to Oklahoma and Bama’s loss to Auburn are a wash. The difference is OSU’s loss to Iowa. Granted, OSU had better wins (although everyone forgets the Florida State team Bama beat in week 1, was not the FSU team that finished 6-6), but that one loss is the difference maker.

Not only did Bama not win the SEC but it didnt even win the Western Division. Reputation alone got it in. Unbelievable that both the Big 10 and PAC 12 were shut out. And I’m a huge Georgia fan.

Still think that Alabama threw the game with Auburn.

8 team playoffs between major conference champions, and matchups drawn from a hat, not decided by the Wizards of College Football. And hold all the other bowls that the runners-up want to sponsor.

Here’s the skinny: there are two 5 wins-7 losses teams going to bowls now.

Bowl eligible teams: 75/80
Conference Count Teams
ACC 11
Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest
American 7 Houston, Memphis, Navy, Temple, Tulsa, UCF, USF
Big 12 6
Baylor, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU West Virginia
Big Ten 10
Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin
C-USA 6
Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, Old Dominion, Southern Miss, UT San Antonio, Western Kentucky
Independents 1 BYU
MAC 6
Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), Ohio, Toledo, Western Michigan
Mountain West 6 Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, Wyoming
Pac-12 6 Colorado, Stanford, USC, Utah, Washington, Washington State
SEC 11 Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, South Carolina Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt
Sun Belt 5
Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Idaho, Troy, UL Lafayette

They will all have plenty of viewers; OTOH, maintaining the `SEC Bowl’ may not, since we-the mouse in my pocketses and I—have had it with the all-knowing Selection Committee. It’s the old BCS in a new wine skin;
it’s comprehensive college football championship series reform.

It’s not as if we’re going to be watching the NFL. Do it before we give up on the NFL’s `Pee Wee’ league and their all powerful wizard gas bags: Those Who Know, deciding for us the NCAA football champion.

Alabama is way over rated.

They never play a game in a stadium up North.

They have a Junior High Cup Cake Schedule.

They refuse to reciprocate on game locations.

Anybody could do what they do.

Simple fact is that SEC athletes are better. Watchng the big 10 championship, all the white guys on the field was a stark difference.

I’m wondering...on Dec. 13, if the news is that Roy Moore won (which looks likely), will they sanctimoniously decide “upon further review” that it should go to The Ohio State University instead?

Why didn’t they have 4 teams from the SEC. This is a fake Championship to make ESPN happy.

Take the 5 major champions and add 3 other champions and have a real Championship.

Watching the playoff show, with my admitted local bias, there was one subliminal, but dominant, message, "Iowa sucks." To have lost by 31 points there couldn't mean that Iowa was great that day; it had to mean that OSU was really bad that day. I hope my Hawkeyes, whom I'll admit have been maddingly inconsistent and at their nadir (Purdue) did suck. And in a few more games they only partially showed up, losing games to now rated MSU and NW, who obviously wanted the game more, yet were within one score in both and in OT at NW. Yet they were ahead of Penn St literally until the last play, in spite its star having his best, Heisman worthy, game. They gave the bully of the Big10 its worst thrashing in decades. And they played well in beating an also inconsistent ISU team, whose dominating win over OK, in Norman, was denigrated by none.

My hope is that my weak willed Hawkeyes will internalize this media assault and bring their PSU/OSU game to their bowl game on that basis. Playing BC in Yankee Stadium in the Pinstripe Bowl most of the team would have little reason to be psyched up otherwise. If they do they should be able to seduce any locals in attendance over to their cause. Cheering against anything Boston comes naturally in Yankee stadium!

You could of put in

Wisconsin
Ohio St.
Penn St.
Georgia

And when Georgia wins it the big ten would of still complained that it was rigged for the SEC.
