Matt Lauer’s wife leaves their home amid sex harassment scandal

Annette briefly filed for divorce in 2006, claiming she suffered “cruel and inhumane” treatment from Lauer, who she said in legal documents was controlling and demonstrated “extreme anger and hostility.” She withdrew the divorce filing a month later.

Another well-placed source insisted that the reason Annette withdrew her divorce filing is that Lauer offered her a post-nuptial agreement at the time of the filing, offering her up to a rumored $5 million deal to remain in the marriage.

The source said, “Matt needed to stay in the marriage to keep his reputation as America’s nicest dad. He is in fact a great, and very doting dad to his kids, but he is also a terrible husband.”

If you were paid to be married to a creep like Matt Lauer, especially after he had been abusive to you, you’d want a $33 mil house in the Hamptons as part of your contract too.

Lauer is about to get a gift from the gods if the rumors on Twitter about Bryan Singer are accurate...

It never fails that the rationalizations based upon relatively moral and traditional lives start flowing from FReepers attempting to explain these situations to themselves. This is not a traditional marriage, they really don’t even live together. It served social and business purposes, having the appearance of being settled and married, for the both of them. Lauer has long been rumored to have trouble in the zipper department and it sounds as if he’s spread it around, and I mean really spread it around, apparently not just limiting himself to females. She quite honestly has a very hard look about her despite being well groomed, well dressed and sort of attractive in that odd way that some leftist women have, but I’ve always thought she wasn’t all that into men. Draw your own conclusions.

I’m not sure I want to read this garbage anymore.

It’s traditional to write a Grand Opus before you depart - looking forward to it :-)

There is the theory that as couples go through marriage together they begin to look more and more alike. If there is any validity to this there are probably many variables both conscious and sub conscious that do this.

She is Dutch and those are common Dutch names.

My ancestors may have been Dutch, but this is America, and I have a hard-to-pronounce name, and suffered accordingly in school and any new social situations. She shouldn't have indulged herself at their expense. Middle name, maybe.

I spent some time living in NL around 9/11. A lot of folks there have international given names these days. I knew one Dutchwoman who named her kids Bo & Levi. She liked Levi’s jeans so named her kid after them. No joke.
