Annette briefly filed for divorce in 2006, claiming she suffered “cruel and inhumane” treatment from Lauer, who she said in legal documents was controlling and demonstrated “extreme anger and hostility.” She withdrew the divorce filing a month later.
Another well-placed source insisted that the reason Annette withdrew her divorce filing is that Lauer offered her a post-nuptial agreement at the time of the filing, offering her up to a rumored $5 million deal to remain in the marriage.
The source said, “Matt needed to stay in the marriage to keep his reputation as America’s nicest dad. He is in fact a great, and very doting dad to his kids, but he is also a terrible husband.”

In liberal New York or New Jersey, she’ll get half and then an equitable alimony for at least 10 years. That alimony is half of what her and his incomes have been for the past several years.
She’ll get lots of money!
It can be very profitable to walk away from a schmuck who makes $25MILLION a year after he gets this much bad press.
She’s no Ivanka, that’s for sure.
So he lost at least half of $30 million, plus whatever she’s going to get in a divorce...that probably puts him near the top in paying for a little side action.

She’s no better than Hillary Clinton, staying in a non-marriage as a business deal. I realize he is being treated as Hitler, or his equivalent, right now, but something tells me he was no better back when he offered up the post-nup. She saw a stack of money on the table and decided it was enough to maintain the appearances. That’s not unique, there are lots of those kind of deals being lived everyday. What is particularly wrong about it is the media’s willingness to peddle a lie (Lauer’s status as America greatest Dad, the Clinton’s as a happily married couple, etc.)
She is a rough hit, no wonder he was hitting on younger ones.
