The White House said on Friday that it was the Obama administration that authorized former national security adviser Michael Flynn's contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during President Trump's transition, according to CNN.
Flynn pleaded guilty on Friday to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Kislyak in the month before Trump took office, the first current or former Trump White House official brought down by special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's election meddling.
Court records indicate that his communications with Kislyak were directed by a Trump transition official, with multiple news outlets reporting that official was Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner.
“They are saying here at the White House that Flynn’s conversations with Sergey Kisylak were quote ‘authorized’ by the Obama administration,” CNN correspondent Jim Acosta said.

In looking at it, what doesn’t make sense is what Flynn admitted he lied about. There really was no reason for lying.
Something else is afoot.
If Obama approved Flynn, then everybody on the Flynn branch is off the hook.

That's axiomatic! I realized this, albeit in inchoate form, the day Trump was elected. That is, that it was never going to end.
Clearly, Flynn was too arrogant for his own good.
Talking to the FBI about anything without a lawyer is the most baffling to me.
Flynn understood the political harm of admitting to contact with the Russians, something his boss, Trump, openly stated did not happen.
So he was covering for Trump and now is a convicted felon and facing 5 years. You can bet he will toss as much dirt as he can.
I was in an argument with a liberal about “but Comey’s a Republican, there are other Republicans involved, you can’t say it is a Democrat conspiracy”.
Yes, it is a conspiracy, and the establishment never-Trumpers haven’t stopped working with Democrats to take him down, though they claim to be conservatives, because he is against the entrenched bureaucracy that provides many of them with jobs and power.

It was legal after the EC certified Trumps victory.

The NY Times was only one of many that reported the same information. Sure, the Times is often tainted, but it is not worthless.
