Republican Senator Has Best Response Ever When Hollywood Brat Asks If He’s Ever Been Poor

On Friday, Hollywood actress Alyssa Milano urged her Twitter followers to watch Republicans debate the tax overhaul bill hours before its scheduled vote.

“watching…..Senator Tim Scott “$100 a month is real money” to struggling families ? Is he [bleeping] kidding ? HOW MUCH does $100 buy in this day ? Costs me $50 to fill my [bleeping] gas tank FFS,” replied Twitter user Cherl Criss.

Tim Scott had the best ever response to Peltier:

“You mean…besides growing up in a poor single parent household where we had to use the oven to heat the house? Or when we couldn’t afford Christmas presents? Or when I owned 4 shirts total?’

“Timothy Eugene Scott was growing up poor and black in Charleston, S.C., the son of a nurse’s aide who worked 16-hour shifts, when Strom Thurmond, who ran for president as the standard-bearer for segregationists, was at the peak of his powers in the Senate,” reported the Washington Post.

Scott amazing back story:

As you have probably heard by now, the junior senator was once an aimless teen who was failing four classes, and he was on the verge of flunking out of high school. He worked a part-time job at a movie theater, and every day he ordered fries and a water from a nearby Chick-fil-A. The owner of the restaurant, John Moniz, eventually took the 13-year-old Scott under his wing and educated him in the teachings of the Republican Party and self-help evangelicals.

Under Moniz’s watchful gaze — and free sandwiches — Scott’s worldview changed and his prospects improved. Eventually, Scott entered college, graduated, and became a successful insurance salesman before embarking on a career in politics. although Moniz tragically passed away when Scott was only 17, even today the senator credits his success to his one-time mentor.

Perhaps. But I am in Boston, which isn’t much cheaper.

Anyway, I would rather live even HERE than in California!

The reason it cost $50.00 to fill a gas tank in California is due to our high gasoline taxes. Thanks to Jerry Brown and the Democrats, our gas taxes are now 41.7 cents per gallon. The most recent gas tax hike took effect on November 1, 2017.

This is clueless. Let's see - for the average family that probably covers the electric bill each month or a significant portion of it. If a struggling family can then count on being able to afford their electric bill each month instead of worrying each month about whether or not their power is going to be cut off I would say that would be a huge relief and make life a lot better. Or it could pay for a week's worth of groceries. Allow them to hire a plumber to fix a leaky pipe they couldn't afford to get fixed before. Help pay their mortgage or rent. Flat out nutty to suggest an extra hundred dollars of cashflow every month for a struggling family would not make a huge positive difference.

We didn`t have much growing up. I got a job as a milkman`s delivery helper at 4am daily before school. I saved 25 bucks and bought a beat-up Dodge, fixed it up. We lived on top of a small mountain. To save gas I pushed the car out of the driveway with my legs, with my younger brother on the clutch. I jumped in and we coasted downhill, motor off, for 3 miles til we got to town. Gas was 30 cents a gallon then-

Yeah, up until a couple of years ago, she was in my top 5.

Got kind of unattractive inside and out when she got political. Or the other way around; I couldn’t say which was cause and which was effect.

He’s the God of snot too!

I tried to express (approach) a tribute to this degree of humility in “A Humble Redneck I Was Born” (Google or Bing it).

I might have been mistaken on Bing. Google finds it, but a lot of FR people disdain or avoid Google due to its, er, controversial practices.
