Flynn coordinated Russia call with senior transition official, prosecutors say
The Hill ^ | December 1, 2017 | Katie Bo Williams

Posted on 12/01/2017 9:17:26 AM PST by Pinkbell

Former national security advisor Michael Flynn spoke with a "senior official" in President’s Trump's transition team at the Mar-a-Lago resort to discuss what he should communicate to the Russian ambassador in a highly-scrutinized series of phone calls in December of 2016, according to federal prosecutors.

Flynn and the senior officials discussed both the recently implemented U.S. sanctions on Russia, as well as the fact that they did not want Russia to escalate friction between the two nations, lawyers on special counsel Robert Mueller's team told a federal judge Friday.

After the discussion, Flynn telephoned the Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak. Afterwards, he called the senior transition official and reported the sanctions discussion, prosecutors said.

Kislyak later followed up with Flynn and affirmed that Russia would moderate its response to the sanctions, put in place by then-President Obama. Flynn communicated that exchange to other transition officials, prosecutors said.

Flynn on Friday pleaded guilty to one count of providing false statements to federal investigators, thereby admitting to the charges made by Mueller's prosecutors.

According to court documents filed by Mueller, Flynn lied when he told investigators that he did not ask Kislyak to "refrain from escalating the situation" in response to sanctions that Obama had levied on the Russian Federation.

Flynn also lied, the counsel said, when Flynn said he did not ask the ambassador to either delay or defeat a related U.N. Security Council vote.   Prosecutors told Judge Rudolph Contreras that Flynn was told by the senior member of Trump transition team to reach out to other countries to influence the U.N. vote, in an effort to delay or defeat the resolution.

Not going to happen. It’s more likely Mueller gets disbarred for nefarious and unethical conduct as an attorney, and he gets implicated as the Director of the FBI enabling Hillary to sell US uranium ore that is vital to national security to the Russians, which Hillary got kickbacks into the hundred of millions of $$$.

Flynn will start spinning fairy tales now to get out of jail and immunity from his other shady deals. Anything Mueller wants. Guaranteed.

That's guaranteed to get Flynn thrown in the end thrown in jail for much longer, and Mueller disbarred and likely jail time to boot.

---

I'm predicting this will be the happy ending.

Notice how all the screaming by the media about Trump and the "pussy" tape. A year later, who would have thought dirtbags like Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose, Weinstein, and Garrison Keillor would be toast.

Trump is keeping his power dry waiting to see what develops. Trump hasn’t even started to fight back. Mueller better watch his step. You’ll know it when he does.

>>>If you look at Drudge and the rest of the MSM, the issue has become the substance of the meetings themselves and that Trump officials ordered the contacts as though it is something nefarious and illegal. It is not.<<<

Obama does things he clearly doesn’t have the power to do and there is silence by the media at best or praise of his policies at worst. Trump is guilty for no other reason than reporters don’t like him. This country is circling the drain if the populace doesn’t reject the blatant partisanship and continue to digest news as if it is merely fact.

Better qualify that to include, “unless you’re Hillary Clinton”, lol.

I wonder if some people still think PDJT is still “working with Mueller”.

THAT’s an idea....hmmmm

Except he would probably be the one with the pics as former head of the FBI...

Wait: apparently accusations do not have to be true...just made.

That works...

Disagree. The Deep State has been dropping their 'Mueller bombshells' strategically to negatively impact good news on the economy or foreign policy, etc.

Making a big deal on Flynn while Hillary SKATES for her email server CRIMES, and Mueller himself committing CRIMES regarding Uranium One, etc., is all A BIG JOKE.

What about the unmasking crimes committed by Team Obama? CRIMINAL OBAMA HIMSELF, Brennan, Clapper, Rice, Mills, Pagliano, Lerner, Hillary, Comey, Holder, Lynch, Huma Abedin, Awans, to name a few. ALL DEEP STATE CRIMINALS IGNORED BY THE DEEP STATE MEDIA.

This is a NOTHINGBURGER FARCE perpetrated by Deep State Mueller and his Deep State media to thwart Trump's accomplishments. Trump is MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN AND THEY CAN'T STAND IT!

Please fill me in on the following:

1. What exactly was Mueller's role in the Uranium One deal?

2. Who were the victims of the "unmasking crimes" you've described? Have you seen any public statements from any of them?

3. If these stories are dropped to negatively impact good news, wouldn't it have been better to drop these stories when the president was cutting deals in Asia, or cutting deals in the Middle East?

She was found guilty of insider trading. It may have been a petty thing, but it is tangible and not the same as lying.

scratchin my head. I read what Flynn lied about and there was no reason to lie.
and the discussion Flynn had with the Russian(s) ? so what. it was President-Elect Trump when this happened.
They have to have more than this to put this much pressure on Flynn to have him admit to mostly nothing.
It has to go back to the Turkey crap.
Still no hit to Pres. Trump

50 Clintonista lawyers and a $100 million budget and growing.

What an absolute waste of Taxpayer dollars. That and the Congressional naughty fund needs full exploration and a written summary for the taxpayers of America.

Yr not wrong...as an outsider, this all looks and sounds like madness.

Mueller is clearly out of control....some adult has to step up and say enough.

The rest of the sane world is wondering, why you allow such lunatics to roam free....

Except the FBI does not record interviews. Agents take notes that they do not share with interviewees. The agent can write down the opposite of what you say and then they charge you with lying.

Don’t talk to the Feds. They can submit questions to your lawyer in writing and he can draft the answers.

So the most they can get is to scare someone(s) enough to “not recall” details of the conversations. Trump said these things publicly to Russia.
