The jurors could also have received confusing, conflicting instructions from the judge. It has happened before and lead to screwed up verdicts.
Those jurors in San Francisco should be ashamed of themselves. I don’t know how they live with themselves after ensuring that there is not justice for Kate Steinle or her family. My heart bleeds for the Steinles tonight.
This is progressivism at its “finest.” This obscenity is what “progressives” call compassion.

I don't think so. ICE should be present for his sentencing and have an agent stationed at every doorway. The next free light he sees should be from the Mexican side of the border.

Watching the live feed on fox, one of the jurors practically sprinted out of the court room. She knew they had done wrong.....she knew. It was telling.
It’s San Fran, not surprised in the least, even expected.
I would surmise the DA did not want a conviction and felt the ricochet would keep him from the murder conviction and if he brought no lesser charges the perp would skate and be convicted only of possession. Kind of a reverse Bernie Goetz.

That is cruel. People in the depths of grief do not always speak right or respond to the press in correct terms. Obviously, you have never lost a family member to an insane criminal. My thoughts and prayers are with Kate’s family tonight.

I was born and raised in Southern California in the 1950s and 1960s. Back then it was paradise. I left for good in 1979 and haven’t looked back.

I lived the first 40 yrs of my life Ca. I watched as the liberal cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles politically took the state over. The city of San Francisco in my opinion is guilty of murder. San Francisco depends a lot on tourism, and I for one will never visit there again. I wholly recommend a national boycott of this leftist bastion of the devil.
I lived in San Mateo County for twenty years and at the time of the Peterson trial I had complete faith that they would render the right verdict and was so happy when they did. People on the Peninsula at that time were just different from those that lived in the City. Demographics have changed so quickly and dramatically and I am not sure how it would turn out today.
Another reason to suspect that the prosecution threw the case is the fact that the defense claimed that the police mistranslated questions asked of the shooter after the shooting. Is there really that level of incompetence in the SF police department? It was a Spanish translator, not a translator of an obscure language from a tiny country on an island in the Pacific, for example.
