President Donald Trump questioned the politics of his decision to finally acknowledge former President Barack Obama was born in the US, which he did late during the campaign in 2016, according to a source close to the White House.
The source said that shortly after he made the statement, Trump told aides that he would have done better in the polls had he continued to stand his ground on the birth certificate issue.
Trump has continued to question the legitimacy of Obama's birth certificate during private conversations in recent months, The New York Times reported Tuesday, citing advisers who discussed Trump's statements.
Trump still questioning Obama's birthplace is just one of several instances The Times pointed to as examples of the President's reliance on "manufactured facts," as the newspaper reported Tuesday.
One sitting US senator quoted by the Times, "who listened as the President revived his doubts" about the issue, "chuckled" when speaking about what was said. Trump "has had a hard time letting go of his claim that Mr. Obama was not born in the United States," the senator, who "asked not to be named to discuss private conversations," told The New York Times.

Maybe and what you've suggested is a good possibility..... or as the book bio says, he was born in Kenya. For either case, it involves Obama fraud.
Nothing new here. The big breaking news? The DOH computers were hacked and the BC information changed.
If it sounds familiar that’s because it is. It was a story told by Dennis Montgomery to Tim Blithseth who then repeated it to Arpaio, Zullo and Mackiewicz in October, 2013.
Obama wasn’t in Hawaii the day Fuddy died. He went to Hawaii on December 20th, she died on the 11th.
On Freedom Friday with Carl Gallups, Mike Zullo claimed for the first time that the Cold Case Posse had obtained hard evidence several years ago that the Hawaii DOH computer system had been hacked from a computer system in the Wash DC area and Barry’s birth record had been altered to enable a SHORT FORM BC to be produced.
This worked fine until pressure led by Jerome Corsi and then Donald Trump increased for production of the LONG FORM BC. In desperation, the mash-up pdf forgery BC was produced and put up on the White House website, according to Zullo.
Zullo said that he and the Sheriff have still not been able to go public or get government officials or Congress to move forward on their evidence due to people in place who are still committed to protecting the status quo for reasons he did not specify.
Zullo remained optimistic that things were in the works to get the information out at a time of the Sheriff’s {and likely Trump’s) choosing.
Zullo said that he and the Sheriff couldn’t expect the hard evidence of the hacking of the HI DOH computer from DC to be investigated by the corrupt Obama/Holder DOJ/FBI so they had to wait until Barry was out of office to reveal this!

A Kenyan lawmaker told the nation's Parliament last month (March 2010) that Barack Obama was born in Africa and is therefore "not even a native American."
During debate over the draft of a new Kenyan constitution, James Orengo, the country's minister of lands and a member of parliament for the Ugenya constituency, cited America's election of a Kenyan-born president as an example of what can be accomplished when diverse peoples unite:
"If America was living in a situation where they feared ethnicity and did not see itself as a multiparty state or nation," Orengo posited, "how could a young man born here in Kenya, who is not even a native American, become the president of America?"
Orengo held up the U.S. as a country no longer "living in the past," since Americans elected a Kenyan-born president without regard to "ethnic consideration and objectives."
Debate is then recorded in the Kenyan government's official March 25, 2010, hansard – a traditional name for printed transcripts of a parliamentary debate – as continuing with no other MPs mentioning or attempting to correct Orengo's comments about Obama.

How does that explain the newspaper announcements?
I have explained the birth announcements 100x. My explanation is A, the only one that covers all known facts, and B, perfectly consistent with Zullo’s findings. I.e.: If the “handwritten,” notes that three independent firsthand witnesses placed in Little Barry’s vital records file contained suitable information, they would have been released. Obviously, whatever hinky ‘birth record,’ Granny Dunham finagled for Little Barry was not fit for public consumption. Evidently it couldn’t even be translated into a computer generated form without modification.
The only people struggling with these issues/facts are, as usual, Obots. But you need to recall what Abercrombie told his friend, Mike Evans. ‘Neil,’ told Evans that there was no birth certificate on file for Obama, and that that could mean trouble in the next election. If Abercrombie had found the “handwritten,” notes convincing, he’d have worded his remarks far differently.
Liz, I always love your posts, which are very well done and highly informative. I agree with you 100%—the Kenyan Parliament affirmed that Obama was born in Kenya.
What’s very interesting is the fact that Obama called the president of the parliament early on the same morning that he won the 2008 election. Obama gave him instructions, and the man indicated to the parliament that he was following them. He then prevented the parliament from declaring a holiday or adjourning early, and proceeded with regular business.
Obviously Obama’s instructions were to quietly and discreetly prevent the parliament from officially declaring Kenya as Obama’s birthplace. For years I thought that pretty much sealed the deal: Obama was born in Kenya.
However, there are two problems with that scenario. First, there’s not a single confirmable witness that places Stanley Ann in Kenya during her pregnancy or immediately after the birth. Had she actually been there, we would know, by now, where she lived. (She wouldn’t have been in Kenya unless it was to meet Obama Sr’s family, and at least one of them would have spilled the beans by now.)
Second, the first confirmed sighting of Stanley Ann and her newborn was in Seattle. (This is actually the first confirmed sighting of Stanley Ann after an ~10 mo disappearance. It is the only period of her life during which she simply vanished from public view.) Two independent sources place SA in Seattle in the latter part of August, ‘61.
Seattle is 9,254 miles from Mombossa. It is not realistic to posit that the airlines of ‘61 would have allowed a newborn to make such a flight. Cabin pressure was not as reliable, and turbulence was a bigger issue. If Little Barry had been born in Kenya, SA would have been stuck there for some time, waiting for him to get old enough to make such a strenuous flight.
[All these issues apply to HI also, incidentally. Little Barry wasn’t born there either.]
The only possible explanation that covers all the known facts is a Canadian birth. Stanley Ann was secreted away in a Vancouver-area home for unwed mothers. Afterward, her Canadian aunt, who also lived in that area, would have driven SA to Seattle. SA attended classes at the UoWA until Little Barry was old enough to fly back to HI.
The reason so many people believed Obama was born in Kenya is because he started spinning that tale as a child in HI. That he kept it up is evidenced by the fact that his own literary agent not only listed him as Kenyan-born, but also engaged him to write a memoir—Journeys in Black and White—that began with his Kenyan birth. Obama is a pathological liar, and he has misled countless people over time.
