As Roger Goodell, Jerry Jones, and the NFL engage in an ugly internal fight over the future leadership of the NFL, TV partners at CBS, ESPN, Fox and NBC are staring at their own internal conflicts namely a substantial decline in NFL ratings that is on pace to cost the four networks up to $500 million in lost revenue.
Already several hundred million in lost revenue has been booked in 2017 and it has the leagues top executives and television partners scrambling to figure out what went wrong. How did a league that was setting ratings records in 2015 suddenly see its audience fall by nearly 20% just two years later.
While much of the attention has focused on the protests, according to ongoing conversations with several people close to the league and its television partners over the past couple of months, the ratings decline that will cost the TV partners up to $500 million can actually be attributed to four primary factors.

[Can the league be that stupid?!!!!]
Let’s hope they continue to be. The problem is solving itself.
The beast they allowed to flourish cannot be controlled; i.e., once they try to shut it down, the felons will resist and continue to kneel. Once removed (if that were to ever happen) they will then go on a non-stop 24/7 media jihad against the league.
This thing is collapsing upon itself.
NFL needin to get a handle on all those hood rats. Juss sayin
I will never watch the NFL or the NBA again.
They got it this season, paid in advance. Next year the NFL will find that the value of their product has dropped considerably.
and yet you have Stephen A Smith on Espn espousing how rich black sports figures have it tough because they have to act good (white).........
I suppose each makes an X on the signature line in their own unique way.
Just like the one on their hats...................
First Take is nothing but a bunch of Leftists talking to one another.
That is a well versed screed juxtaposed most appropriately with an excellent photographic selection.
The hats remind them how to make an X.
Reaping what they have sown.
This is what happens when leftist jack-wagons push their agendas.
Thank you, kind sir.
Dez Bryant has to keep reminding them cuz they forget so quickly.........................
There are a lot of things converging on the NFL right now, not just the disgusting anthem protests. Problem is, once a brand starts declining, it's really hard to reverse. Horse racing and boxing were major sports in the 1940's.
I wonder if these knucklehead kneelers know that their next contract may be missing a couple of “0”s
Idiots
They may not be that STUPID, but they are being that STUBBORN, IMHO. For them to acknowledge that as the reason would require them to agree with POTUS and to understand that we deplorables are a powerful silent majority deserving of respect!
The wonderful thing about this is that possibly some other left-leaning “American institutions” will see the writing on the wall, and reset their sights more toward the right or center, at least.
Oh no, no, no.... I must insist.... Thank you!
(now if you can get that Looney Tunes reference we’ll really be on the same page.)
I wonder what has happened to the business of Licensed Apparel sales through all of this?
How about sports bars, do people really care anymore? I go to restaurants and find it uber obnoxious that there is a tv in my face at every corner as I’m out with others trying to socialize. I never really see too much in others watching the never ending blah blah blah of the ESPN commentators discussing the importance of the shoe size of this guy over that.... 24/7 sports talk is mind numbingly stupid and in my case contributed to my lack of interest in Sports that grew over the years and finally culminated in a total boycott last year.
A boycott assumes If they fix it, I might come back. I’m not !
