Matt Lauer allegedly sexually assaulted a female NBC staffer during the Rio Olympics, sources told Page Six.
The staffer, who has not been named and wishes to remain anonymous, complained to NBC bosses yesterday, prompting NBC News bosses to move fast and fire him.
A source told Page Six, An NBC staffer come forward with a claim that Matt sexually assaulted her at the Olympics.
There have been rumors about Matt having affairs with subordinates at NBC for years, but those were believed to be consensual. This incident in Rio was not.
Another source tells us that the decision to fire Lauer was made late last night by NBC News chairman Andy Lack.
Lauers firing comes amid rumors that numerous news outlets were working on stories about the Today anchor alleged sexual misconduct.

To us outsiders it does seem precipitous.
OTOH we don't really know what the decision is based on.
There may be witnesses, evidence (a "blue dress") a confession or something else held in confidence.
I suspect there might be something to back up the allegation and they are concerned that their competition may have it or know of it.
Just my 2¢.
I wonder if/when allegations will come out against Ellen.
I am wondering about a couple of things: Matt Lauer’s shelf life might have been over and NBC might have been looking to get rid of him to begin with and second, I wonder if Bryant Gumbel (speaking of Today show hosts) would likely make Lauer look like an angel by comparison regarding treatment of women and I wonder if and when allegations involving him will come out?
Yup. Due process is out the window because...feelings.
In the midst of all these outings and accusations, does anyone find it odd that there has not been one same sex allegation?
Actually, there was the recent allegation against Star Trek’s George Takei.

Assault??? We’re defining deviancy up these days when a pinch on the bottom is rape.
In the midst of all these outings and accusations, does anyone find it odd that there has not been one same sex allegation?
What a wonderful chance for women to get even with men they don’t like.
Didn’t get that job promotion you wanted? Scream sexual assault. Voila! There’s a sudden opening in the spot your male boss used to occupy.
Still doesn’t describe the sexual assault. Was it a friendly peck on the cheek or an Al Franken-style tongue kiss. Did he simply put a neutral hand on her shoulder for a photograph or did he grab her butt or masturbate into a flowerpot in front of her?
I am stunned that the Lauer allegation—was not by a guy....
Anderson Cooper next? That’s my prediction.
I understand what you’re saying about due process, but in a case like this when a prominent person gets fired quickly I have a different take. I assume the employer knew about the guy’s story for years, and looked the other way all along. They fired him this time because it was about to become a public story outside NBC.
I’m happy to accept the plausibility of your narrative(s).
And if that version is true, it makes the funereal hand-squeezing, shoulder-hunching, eyebrow-knitting routine by what’s left of NBC’s on-air staff even more disingenuous since it’s highly unlikely they found out about it at 4 AM just before air time.
Whoa. Well, I figured that it had to be something other than doing a consensual horizontal mambo with his cowerkers.
Is Matt a democrat? /s
DJT is right....why should the head honchos keep their jobs for allegedly doing the same thing?
Let’s see CBS, NBC....is ABC next?
Due process is appropriate in court but not employment. Because this is so high profile, I assume NBC had overwhelming evidence.
Maybe Shep Smith?
The allegations are just that and as much as I detest some if those accused, I should give them the same courtesy they granted Judge Moore and President Trump...
That would be so S W E E T.
His makeup person would be out of a job.
