GOP Alabama Sen. Richard Shelby said on Monday that he did not vote for Republican nominee Roy Moore in the state's Senate special election.
"No, no, no, I voted absentee. I didn't vote for him. I voted for a distinguished Republican write-in," Shelby told reporters when asked if he would vote for Moore, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women.

If he voted for the dem it was secretly. He claims to have voted for a write in which is effectively not voting at all and mathematically speaking is exactly 50% as bad as voting for the democrat.
I think he just cut his own political throat.
He doesn’t care. His present term doesn’t end until January 3, 2023 just before he turns 89.
Hey Dick,
I’ll do the same when you run again next! I think I’ll write in Bozo. He’s at least entertaining.
Alas AKA Alabama Babylon!
i saw where Trump refused to campaign for him...not surprised.

Yep. Shelby is just dropping an FU directed at the GOP base who elected Moore. Well, old boy, turnabout is fair play as they say. The GOPe will badly need MAGA voters in swing states to push their RINOs to victory. Good luck with that now.
Once a Democrat, always a Democrat.
And once a swamper, always a swamper.
good post
Is it too late for me to denounce Shelby?
I will say this: Shelby does not deserve to be shot.
This cuck is quite old. Maybe he’ll be called to account soon.
Squish Shelby (Squish-AL) needs to get primaried in 2022. Don’t think we Alabamians won’t forget.
NOT named after him, though. And no real connection, I think.
“And once a swamper, always a swamper.”
Yep.
Good, we can put a real conservative in then!
5 years to get a real Conservative into this seat ? I wouldn’t call that good. It’s a damn shame Shelby beat his predecessor by a heartbreakingly tiny margin in 1986, Conservative GOPer and Admiral Sen. Jeremiah Denton.
Shelby must be preparing to retire. He knows now he will face a primary opponent if he tries to stick around. He is persona non-grata here in Alabama now, and his seat will hopefully be taken by Mo Brooks when it comes up.
Not him specifically, but maybe someone in his lineage.
99.99% Shelby is compromised.
If Shelby really believes what he says, then he has to go.
Clearly the water of the Potomac has affected his mind.
It’s astounding Shelby does not think this is political at all? This even though nothing was ever said for almost 40 years until it looked like Roy Moore was going to win.
It’s frightening to think Shelby believes well known and notorious liars and political hacks of the Left. That fact that he falls for this hook, line and sinker tells me Shelby has to go. He even goes on FAKE NEWS CNN to say this! Good grief!!!
I would not be surprised to find out that Shelby is one of the congressmen that is on the secret sexual harassment payout list. This would explain his rational that he is compromised.
What's the point of voting for a write-in if you aren't willing to name and praise the individual? The problem with write-ins, especially secret write-ins, is that they usually hand victory to the other side!
Virtue-signaling morons like Senator Shelby need to realize that principle has no place in the voting booth. He'd prefer to lose the seat just to feel good and pure.
Hopefully, Alabama will elect Roy Moore. If he's truly as bad as the 'Rats and the RINOs are claiming, the Senate can always expel him. Then the governor can appoint someone else, and the seat will ultimately remain Republican.
