Actually I am starting to believe that this is the dems and DeBlasio, paying people to go out and indiscriminately shoot at people and any thing else they want with no fault.
Hell of a way to set up the screaming for additional gun control laws.

Probably just took a sound shot. Because, you know, deer sound just like pickup trucks.

…should have been wearing an orange vest.

Yep, in too many places, those are probably the last words you'll hear from the trespassers on your property during deer-hunting season.

“If you’re in the woods, even on your own land, wear something bright.”

We do! We limit who hunts our land, but you never know WHO was invited to hunt with an adjoining neighbor!

I do NOT walk the dogs (or myself) during Deer Season, and I just naturally grab my BLAZE ORANGE, even if I’m just going to do barn chores or am feeding the hunting dogs.

Better to be SAFE, than SORRY!

They end up shooting cows, goats, dogs, etc and wondering just where the deer went.

Years ago, I saw two men trying to lift a big animal into the bed of their pickup. I knew what it was, but I asked them to see what they thought they had. The answer? "One of them mule deer, a big one!" Anyone with brains can guess what it actually was. I told the nearest farmer, figuring he might want to know.

...Maybe it was a Ram...

Or a well hidden John Deere tractor...

I would suspect alcohol was involved. But then, Upstate NY just had an old man who shot a woman - with a handgun- an hour after sunset because he saw movement and thought she was a deer. Shooting isn’t allowed after sunset, so maybe alcohol (or pot, very common upstate but they don’t test for it) was involved in that one, too.

Too bad, because it’s going to mean more restrictions on normal careful hunters.

10 years on a chain gang. Fair sentence for that level of depraved indifference.

For the whole 10 days of Wisconsin deer season, I keep my horses close to the barn in a dry lot that has protection from bullets due to the lay of the land around it, they have no pasture time at all for the entire 10 days.

The first 2 days of the season, when the lunatics are really excited to blast away at anything,I even keep the horses in the barn itself which is double walled, the inner wall being 2 by 10’s.

When I was a kid, one of my relatives was out plowing the cornfield and he swears he felt/heard a bullet go by his head.

I like that the deer herd is thinned, since there are so many deer/car accidents here, but it is very dangerous to live in the country during hunting season.

While probable, in ny we have genius types buy their gear from LLBean and think this makes them “uber elite hunters”.
They then go out in the woods and shoot each other.
Happens every year here.
Usually “city folk” coming out to the country areas snd derping out.

Dude in PA had a chocolate doberman on the hood of his vehicle.
Said it was a “funny looking deer” and couldn’t wait to show everyone.

Maybe it was a Ram.

He was going for a Buck. I could almost see it if he shot a Buick. Easy mistake to make ...

But seriously: this guy is an idiot. He should be flogged in the public square and pilloried for a week.

“Badly trained idiots like this and the guy who shot a woman he thought might be a deer only make it hard for responsible gun owners.”

Just charged? He should have been executed already.

Hunting while under the influence of alcohol should be a felony.

The beginning of deer season is often quite lethal. Idiots should be screened out if that was possible.
