A woman known for documenting her travels on social media fell to her death while trying to snap a selfie, according to reports.
Toni Kelly, 20, a New Zealander living in London, died Nov. 14, two days after plunging out of a second-story window and suffering a severe brain injury, the Evening Standard reported.

I have a niece that from about 12 or 13 would take selfies by herself or with friends and without exception every one of them they were making weird faces.
Fortunately upon graduating from High School she joined the Air Force and now five years later she is a Staff Sgt.
Some do grow out of “selfies”
That’s very sad. RIP.
Well, I would just hope that more young people (and older people who should know better) are aware of the risks of doing something stupid.
I don’t think it’s a good idea in general to be sending thousands of pictures of yourself all around the internet, even when they’re not taken in potentially deadly situations.
Even if a person knows my real name and info, his internet search to get a pic to go with the name/info would be in vain.
“Thats very sad. RIP.”

Yes, though she was at fault for her demise, I expect she was a good & nice person and surely her friends and family have lost a lovely girl. It’s always especially sad when a parent has to bury one of their children.
I eagerly await his auto-defenestration.
Yeah, I feel terrible for her friends and family.
So sad. My son is 20 and he is an amazing photographer. He thankfully doesnt take photos of himself so Id like to think this couldnt have happened to him... my heart breaks for her family.
So Obamas with the selfie stick was real? I always thought it was photoshopped. Not that I didnt know he is just that narcissistic.
I think taking selfies is a perfectly innocent, harmless way for kids to have fun—so long as they don’t put themselves in harms way to get a shot. For adults, it’s just silly.
And some don't.

Depends on the photos and where they end up. There are endless tales of kids, almost always young girls, who regretted taking a pic(s) even though the consequences were not fatal.
She made a terrible mistake, but try to remember she was someones daughter, and they are hurting now.

Oh yeah, it is real :(
Here is an amusing yet to-the-point 1.5 min. video with commentary by Todd Starnes on this...He states:
Teddy Roosevelt said speak softly and carry a big stick.
Bammy speaks verbosely and carries a self stick.

Unfortunately death by selfie is not rare. Go check out YouTube.
So pretty, so unwise. RIP.
Tough crowd out here.
...
Yep. I blame it on virtue signalling.
You don't know anything about this girl except that she fell out of a window trying to take a selfie, and she's dead.
You don't have to abuse corpses by pouring unearned contempt on her dead body.
Now we know more about you than we knew about her.
And it's repellently ugly.
Yawn...
