Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) told MSNBCs Chuck Todd on Meet the Press Daily on Tuesday that the U.S. House of Representatives has paid $15 million to alleged victims of sexual harassment by its own members in recent years.
We do know there is about $15 million that has been paid out by the House on behalf of harassers in the last ten to 15 years, she said.
15 million dollars has been paid out over sexual harassment claims, Todd replied, somewhat shocked. So, obviously more than one member of Congress.
Pressed for details, Speier said she did not know how many members of Congress were involved. She also explained that victims had signed non-disclosure agreements. If the taxpayers are involved, dont we have the right to know? Todd asked later in the segment.
I think you do have the right to know, she said. But right now, under the system, you dont have a right to know.

How big is the Senate fund?
We have the right to know what is done with OUR money.
I want names.
I don’t care if half the government resigns in disgrace, after the crap they are throwing at Judge Moore, the residents of glass houses need to be outed.
Where are the puritans, McConnell and Ryan on this? Too busy talking about the ‘integrity of congress’. (eyes rolling)
Isn’t it nice to know the hard earned dollars from citizens are used to pay off millions of dollars in hush money to victims of sexual harassment by our fine and pure members of Congress.
F.O.I.A.
The offenders need to be outed.
I join Mark Levin’s call for both Ryan and McConnell to resign immediately for allowing this culture to exist under their watch. Spread the word please, thanks!
I bet the payout was much more since the Democrat revealing this likely has left out money paid in many Democrat cases.
If this is true, it will resonate with the American people, as did the House bank and post office scandal. People could understand that they could not float themselves loans as congressman could. Ordinary workers have a harder time understanding that the huge amount that is withheld every paycheck goes for many corrupt things plus they just ever see that money. Let us hope.
Newt married one of his staffers. Thad Cochran married his long time secretary when his wife eventually passed away in a nursing home in Mississippi. Etc. It might be safer to choose just one person to harass and then to marry him/her. I’m waiting for one of these saints to marry a same sex staffer. Heh.
But Roy Moore allegedly groped a waitress 40 years ago and wrote a Christmas message in her high school yearbook five months or so after the yearbook was distributed at school. How many other folks signed her yearbook at Christmas? Maybe she just wanted an autograph of an important person.
Shouldn’t they be resigning like they want Moore to do?
This is just so wrong. How about publicizing names of staffers and Senators/Reps who had their hush money paid for them? These are cases where they admitted their guilt. How dare DC Swampthings play “guilty until proven innocent” when they don’t publicize these names?
If they succeed in destroying Roy Moore, you think it will end there?
I saw in another article that the victims were required to sign non-disclosures to get their hush money. Just like in Hollywood.
Any bets Joe Biden is on the list of accused? He is way too interested in little girls.
Not to overlook the possibility that congressmen are just plain stealing our money.
What a bunch of compromised perverts and nitwits. Great “leaders”...no?
I don’t think finding the Names of all these deviant perverts is enough, they Should be Required to PAY the money back to the Taxpayers and then Criminally Prosecuted for STEALING Taxpayer Money and sent to Prison for LIFE!!!
Is it time to consider a wholesale replacement of our entire fed.gov? If not now, when?
