Sen. Ted Cruz on Monday withdrew his support from Alabama GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore, saying allegations of sexual misconduct should be looked at by prosecutors.
“As it stands, I can’t urge the people of Alabama to support a campaign in the face of these charges without serious, persuasive demonstration that the charges are not true,” the Texas Republican told reporters, according to a Texas Tribune reporter.
“Both last week and this week, there are serious charges of criminal conduct that if true, not only make him unfit to serve in the Senate but merit criminal prosecution,” he added.

Statute of Limitations. Cruz is a Lawyer, right?
If you saw her press conference, you could finish that sentence yourself. She said she got the courage to come forward after the 4 women that came out in the Wash Post article. Think about it, she was 15 years old (if you believe her story). She was just a kid and here’s this DA who says no one will believe you so don’t go spilling this out. That’s why she didn’t come forward at the time. She’s held it in all these years most likely believing no one would believe her so what’s the point.
You could make that same accusation against all these women that came forward about Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein, the boys with Kevin Spacey. Are they all lying as well?
I’m not fool enough to think that women (or men) can’t use this accusation as a weapon against someone. That’s why I’m suspicious when it’s just one or two. However, when it’s a lot that come out, the totality of all these people coming out and making claims sways my opinion. I only now am convinced it happened after this press conference yesterday. You could make the same arguments in support of Harvey Weinstein. Do you not believe Rose McGowan et al??

That’s what I thought until I looked it up. Cruz is not normally wrong on the law so I check into it.
Generally there is no statute of limitations for child sex abuse and even late occurring memories can be prosecuted in some cases, some states.
Cruz was likely referring to the alleged fondling of the 14 year old which was before age of consent and would fall under these “no limitations” laws.

Regardless of who is accused, PROOF is needed. Cosby had his day in court. Deadlocked by the way, those that heard all the evidence did not believed the accusers.
Notice when and how this came out? Too early for court but just in time for the election. Could it be true? Sure. Am I going to hand the Senate to the Democrats for alleged unproven behavior that they themsleves have PROVEN to engage in?

Original, now explain yourself if you can. How do I sound stupid and childish by saying I find the totality of the evidence now lining up against Roy Moore (the five women, Beverly Young Nelson’s press conference, the multiple people from his hometown talking about the open secret that he cruised the malls for young girls, his former co-worker DA about his penchant for young girls, etc..) to be convincing?
