Attorney General Jeff Sessions is considering the appointment of a special counsel to investigate several GOP allegations of misdeeds by Hillary Clinton, according to a report Monday night.
Sessions wants prosecutors to look into the Republican concerns and report directly to him and a top deputy, according to a letter obtained by The Washington Post.
Republicans want to know if the former first lady was properly investigated for using a private e-mail server while secretary of state or if the Clinton Foundation granted any special to big donors.
The GOP is also seeking more information about Secretary of State Clintons role in the controversial sale of a Canadian mining company with significant uranium interests in the US to Russia.
Earlier this year, Sessions recused himself from the probe into President Trumps alleged Russian ties. Then top Sessions deputy Rod Rosenstein appointed special counsel Robert Mueller to investigate the matter.

I think that Sessions is trying to secure Bill Clinton to run the investigation.
For some reason, AG Sessions recused himself from any investigation related to the Clinton Foundation. You can't investigate Uranium One without looking at the pay-to-play allegations with the Clinton Foundation. That's why Sessions can't lead an investigation.
Thanks Ernest.
No doubt, he will make the decision, an hour after he croaks. 😩😱
Sessions needs to be investigated...
Robert DeLong, have you seen the film noir movie “Cry Danger”? Dick Powell, Rhonda Fleming, William Conrad.
Dick Powell’s sidekick is Robert (I think) DeLong, played by Richard Erdman.
I always think of the movie when I see a post from you.
Born John Richard Erdmann

All sources I checked only list the character name as Delong. His name is spelled slightly differently from my last name though: DeLong
I'll have to check it out. It may have been something I've seen, but not really sure. Thanks for asking, as I love old noir filsm. 8>)
There is an American electronic musician named Robert DeLong though.
Sessions is considering
is different than
Sessions is taking action .. !
Sessions did indeed recuse himself from anything related to the Clinton Foundation. These words came directly from Sessions in a Senate hearing. I'm not sure why you characterize it as fake news. Democrats forced Sessions to do that as part of his confirmation process because Democrats knew that there can be no Uranium One investigation without looking at the Clinton Foundation.
Perhaps you have information that AG Sessions has unrecused himself. If so, I'd like to see it. I think it is far more likely that the Deep State has lulled you to sleep with conspiracy theories that there is some sort of secret investigation into the Uranium One and/or Fusion GPS matters. There is none. Sessions practically said so yesterday.
DID SESSIONS RECUSE HIMSELF FROM INVESTIGATING CLINTON OVER THE RUSSIA URANIUM DEAL?
AG Jeff Sessions DID not recuse himself on Uranium One.
Jeff Sessions DID NOT Recuse from Uranium One
You're looking for some 4-D chess conspiracy theory? Sometimes it's not there, Greg. This is exactly as it appears. The Democrats backed Sessions into a corner during confirmation. Democrats knew he couldn't investigate Uranium One without looking at the Clinton Foundation. Whether Sessions knew it or not, he effectively recused himself from Uranium One.
It doesn't matter that Sean Hannity doesn't understand this.
Do you see the trap the Dems sprung on Sessions at the confirmation hearings?
Sessions must resign so that an AG who hasn't recused himself can appoint a Special Counsel.
Do think it possible the Fed Senate will confirm someone else that will endanger anyone in the establishment? More than likely an reformer will be Moored.
Well, which is it? One article says he’s refusing, this one says he’s considering.
Fair enough. So maybe Sessions needs to fire Rosenstein before he resigns. That leaves who? Rachel Brand as acting AG? Maybe she appoints the Special Counsel.
