Sunday on Full Measure, we have an incredible cover story from The Philippines where President Duterte is drawing international attention for his radical tactics in fighting drug crimes and Islamic extremist terrorism: he has given the green light for police and ordinary citizens to shoot down drug dealers–and users–in the streets without trial.

And he’s installed martial law in the troubled southern region where ISIS is said to be moving in. We’ll talk to President Duterte’s vocal opponents and also some of his supporters as he enjoys popularity ratings that are the envy of any national leader.

But...in fact that is about how China, too, got rid of their drug epidemic:

The commies declared they’d forgiven EVERYONE as victims of foreign exploiters.

Then they KILLED everyone who later didn’t quit.

Only a matter of time before one of his political opponents is discovered to be a “drug addict.”

Philippines is so densly populated that no one will notice some missing drug dealers. I would not mind large scale drug dealers being executed here. After a fair and speedy trial of course. You sell poison you get the death penalty. Makes sense to Duterte and me and most Freepers.

Pretty harsh!
But, maybe he’s got the program against drugs, as well as muzzies!

Drug *users*? Maybe not.Not for a first offense certainly.

Drug *dealers*? Yup...even for a first offense.

and so ended their “century of humiliation”. Want to know how not to get shot in the street in the Philippines? Don’t peddle drugs.

People have been saying that for over a year now. Still hasn’t happened. Maybe you should wake up to the fact that criminal scum should be flushed down the sewers instead of being protected by the corrupt courts.

If that’s the only way to stop the drug dealers and to get rid of ISIS, whatever works. If I lived in that area, I’d rather live under martial law than be caged and burned or beheaded.

Let me give some background on what’s going on in the Philippines: The court system is doing everything they can to not put criminals in jail. They’re acting in a lawless manner and have been doing so for 40+ years. Just like in America leftists own the legal system and used it against the law abiding. The solution to a corrupt legal system is to ignore it and institute basic justice.

There's plenty of ways to get murdered by the government in the Philippines aside from dealing drugs.

Hell, President Duterte himself stabbed a man to death just for looking at him funny. Great guy!

Hey, I’m for dealing harshly with the people who cause the drug problem,

But I also know human nature, and the nature of politicians who get away with killing people.

They start with the bad guys, but then their political opponents become the bad guys.

Then the reporters who cover what’s going on become the bad guys.

“That’s out of control.”

Yeah, much better to institute a hugh, enormously expensive fedgov that searches and seizes property of innocent citizens while the dealers get off on technicalities after years of being taxpayer funded defendants.

This Filipino guy puts the “war” in the “War on drugs”.

I don’t care about that. I will be very curious to see how an actual War on Drugs works out for the Filipinos though.

>Hey, I’m for dealing harshly with the people who cause the drug problem,

Killing worth scum isn’t the same as killing people of value. Human civilizations have long had a policy of killing worthless scum while leaving good people alone. It’s civilizations that talk about protecting and helping the worthless criminal scum that tends to end up mass murdering good people.

>They start with the bad guys, but then their political opponents become the bad guys.

Got a real example of that? Chile, for example, elminated the criminals the communists while regular people were allowed to go about their lives without fear.

>Then the reporters who cover what’s going on become the bad guys.

All I needed to know about the press comes from the LA riots. They played videos of Korean shop owners shooting back at rioters and urged the cops not to put an end to the riots, but rather arrest and disarm the Koreans defending themselves. If you needed a reminder of the kind of scum the press check out their lying coverage of George Zimmerman.

The proper term is not “out of control.”
The true term here is “yellow journalism.”

The situation is that both the police and the general citizenry have the right to arrest people involved in drug offenses and bring them to the nearest precinct for questioning and investigation.

If they resist either through force or fleeing then lethal force may be used.

Whenever lethal force is used for subdual is used, there will be an investigation as to what truly happened, and the appropriateness thereof.

A bit wild west, but the situation is desperate.

In any event, there is no license to just go around shooting people.

Fake news.
