I wasn’t trying to be pessimistic, but IMO Virginia has been a lost cause ever since the Dems manage to win with McAwful.
Can we STOP pretending its a “swing state” now? The reality is the state has swung far left in the past decade and now elects oodles of RATS to any office they want.
I don’t like that reality anymore than you do, but that is the current makeup of Virginia.
The ONLY silver lining there is that the neo-confederates/DemonRats can’t overlap a civil war map with a current election anymore and claim all the former confederate turf loves Trump.
It’s certainly no Illinois or NJ shiitehole as of yet. But nor is it a 50/50 state after the thorough Marylandifcation of NOVA. It was Shillery’s 6th most narrow win. It’s lean D. I would not write if off entirely. The GOP may well regain the State House in Dr. Babykiller’s midterm in 2019.
