So this guy allegedly attacks Rand Paul while Rand is cutting his grass. Paul suffers 5 broken ribs. And now the alleged assailant is out on $7500 bond? He allegedly tackled and assaulted a US Senator.
$7500?
(From Vanity Fair)
On Sunday, however, Pauls chief of staff told The Washington Post that the injuries the senator sustained were much more severe than initially disclosed: five of his ribs are cracked, his lungs are bruised, and the pain is considerable enough that Paul could be unable to fly for some time, potentially upending the upcoming tax-reform debate in Congress.
Days later, it remains unclear why the assailantPauls 59-year-old neighbor, Rene Boucherattacked the senator in the first place. Jim Bullington, a former city commission member who knows both men, told the Post that the two, who live next to each other in their gated community, often engaged in heated exchanges about politics; Boucher is a vocal anti-Trump socialist, according to Bullington, while the libertarian Paul voted against an Obamacare repeal attempt because it didnt go far enough in severing federal aid. The F.B.I. is investigating the incident, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.
HOA enforcer. Rand kept leaving his garbage can out past pick-up day...
“HOA enforcer.”
I hate those guys. We just moved from a “free” rural area to a Stepford-like subdivision. Creepy.
He will get off on an insanity defense.
He is a victim of Trump Derangement Syndrome. He should be cared for, not thrown in jail. Maybe a week in rehab will cure him, like it did for Weinstein. /s
For the last day, I have read several stories stating that Rand Paul was moving his yard while the guy attacked/tackled him. Now that I see the overhead of the neighborhood, I’m realizing he probably wasn’t walking behind a push mower, but was riding on something big. Politically motivated or not, his neighbor is an idiot.
How gullible can our media be? If they had been ideological buddies, the attack never would have happened. The neighbor might have sued or flipped him off, but that’s all.
My first thought too.
I thought attacking a member of congress had the harshest punishment?!!! Where is the outcry from the members of congress to revoke this guy’s puny bond...SOMETHING STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN!!!! Damn corrupt judges and swamp dwellers!!!
