At least 27 people have died after a gunman opened fire at a church in Texas during Sunday services.
The attack happened at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs in Wilson County.
A police commissioner at the scene confirmed that at least 27 people had died. Several others are reported to be injured.
The San Antonio FBI branch said its agents had been deployed, and there was no indication of the gunman's motive.
The FBI also said that while only one shooter was reported, it was looking into other possibilities.
Local ABC affiliate KSAT 12 reported the gunman entered the church at around 11:30 local time (17:30 GMT). It also said he had been killed in the aftermath.
Photos and video from the scene showed the area taped off by local law enforcement.
A number of helicopters have arrived to transport the wounded, KSAT 12 reporter Max Massey said.
Texas governor Greg Abbott said: "Our prayers are with all who were harmed by this evil act. Our thanks to law enforcement for their response."
He said more details would be released by the Texas Department of Public Safety shortly.

The law is convoluted but the plain text of it states that it is illegal but not applicable unless there is a 30.06 or 30.07 sign posted as applicable.
So as a prudent gun owner, do you take the risk of committing a gun crime because you failed to notice the sign? Or do you just not bother?
I stand by my original statement: Texas gun laws SUCK on ice!
Enlighten us then. These people were perfectly free to defend themselves. What right is it that they did not have that would have made a difference?
That said, just yesterday I had to take my wife to the ER and they had wands and scanners. I told the guy I was carrying and all he said was lock it in your car. Courteous and professional. I thought the whole hospital was a “gun-free zone”, but found out today it’s just the ER. I’m comforted.

Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, a legal CPL holder may not carry in church, school, bars, etc. My point is, very simply put, repeal all laws that restrict law abiding citizens from carrying, period. Or, reztor all 2nd ammendment rights.
That’s why its called concealed.
Couldn’t find Michigan law on NRA site but there is this: You can carry if your church allows, so it’s not illegal if your church allows. And I agree that’s the way it should be, each church should have their own rules, don’t like it, always the option to go to another church.
