Churches are a special case. The pastor needs to give permission for any armed security or CHL holders. I asked the pastor at my old church years ago about this, and he was absolutely not interested. Most of the mainline denominations are anti-gun anyway. The rest are a mixed bag. The people in the pews are a mixed bag. Maybe if some decent sermons on the right (duty?) of self-defense were given, some minds would change. I have met quite a few very anti-gun conservative Christians over the years. Mainly, but not exclusively, women.
