Stuart Varney: Bergdahl gets no prison time
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
I call it 400 yard justice.
his day is coming.
I am shocked by the sentence. But now he has to live the rest of his life. Good luck getting a job. You bum.
scumbag leaves his post, looks for the enemy, and then good men died trying to rescue him, and he gets this !!!! WTH.
He deserves to be shot, and would have been shot 20 years ago, but because of the wussy obama, and Bush the Army, navy has got soft with people joining to get their free college.
I think the problem is that President Trump said on 10/16/17 "I think people have heard my comments in the past.
He should have said nothing. Until after the sentence. And President Trump is correct when he said the sentence is a "complete and total disgrace."
You are absolutely correct, however Trump’s comments were during the campaign. But his current inclination to fire off on twitter is a great dis-service to our military. Because his “tweets” are from him as President now. Yes, he is a citizen, but his constant drilling down to the tiniest detail (which reminds me greatly of that non-delegator Jimmah Cahtah)MINIMIZES his actual awesome Executive powers. Power he is using quite well and just getting started. His post sentencing comments are appropriate— and he now can do something about this lib military judge. Pull his jacket, assign him to Attu Island, or Alaska forward bases. So they can deal with him there.
All of this result is from over 20 years from GHW, through billy boy to GWB and through obamaumao— erosion of unit discipline, enforcing- UCMJ in theatre, and most importantly tying the hands of our warriors in combat by ridiculous central controlled Rules of Engagement.
This clown “soldier” walked off Post exposing his fellow team to danger, without asking them. First. Second: he “was seeking out another base to report command complaints” (so he says) and was captured by Taliban. In actuality, he sought out the Taliban, is a freaking muzzie (thanks to his idiot parents) and is a complete liar. A willing prisoner of the Taliban, for use as a PR tool. The Book, without superior command interference could easily have been thrown at him— it has been thrown prior to others for much less. Period.
Teddy? No, Teddy said “talk softly”. Hoping Trump will keep to this guidance— and nail his enemies— don’t telegraph, and don’t emote. Please.
So now this a-hole gets his 5 years back pay of $300K plus no doubt a freaking book deal (which he should not, under civilian law, fruit of the poisoned tree because he was convicted). What should now happen is this guy should be hounded, daily into obscurity. His fellow warriors died looking for him— for HIM. Because he chose to leave them. The ultimate candidate for a Code Red. Imagine the families of those who died looking for this POS. Blessings to all those who gave their lives. And wishing this traitor- a life of Hell.
No I don’t. I don’t wear aluminum hats.
...on your many heads...?
Dishonorably discharged. No prison time. Cause he “said” he was tortured after every escape attempt. No witnesses to corroborate that claim were available from the Taliban. Medical officer’s reports? Like to see those and compare to his last in the US Army prior to his swan walk.
There was no jury to affect. Bergdahl plead guilty. The judge said in public he was not influenced by the president.
President Trump was asked specifically about those comments. Essentially, he said he couldn’t comment further and they already had referred to his previous comments. I heard it live at the time. It was just a matter of fact comment. Watch it if you haven’t seen it.
.
I expect him to leave country and rejoin the jihadis
what comes around goes around, and I hope for him karma is a massive bit##
No. The judge could be challenged for cause by either the Trial Counsel (the army prosecutor) or the DC (defense counsel). I only saw it once in my career and the judge denied the challenge. It goes in the record of trial (which is done by a military court reporter and they type out a verbatim record of everything said in court and that sometimes massive record goes to the appeals courts. I have seen murder cases where the record of trial was several volumes and each might be 8 to 12 inches thick!!!!!) of course and can be part of the review by the Military Court of Review which is the first line of appeals. You can appeal further to COMA (court of military appeals, the final stop, UNLESS you have something that the US Supreme Court might take, by that is way more than rare. I can only remember one case going to the Supremes, that I read about. It was not our case.) That is the way it was when I retired in 1992, I assume it is probably still the same some what.
Keep telling yourself that
I agree.
And it is a terrible betrayal of the families of the dead and wounded.
I hope an alternate route can be found for them t eryo get justice.
