FBI is closer to drawing a conclusion on motive for Las Vegas shooting
Las Vegas Sun ^ | November 2, 2017 | By Ricardo Torres-Cortez

A month into the investigation of why Stephen Paddock indiscriminately rained gunfire on thousands of concert attendees, killing 58 and injuring hundreds at the Route 91 Harvest festival, investigators maintain that there is “absolutely” no indication the gunman was ideologically driven or affiliated with any international or domestic terror or hate group.

But investigators have made significant strides.

“We do know a lot more (about Paddock) than when we started,” Rouse told the Las Vegas Sun Wednesday afternoon. “I feel like we are going in the correct direction to understand why this happened.”

Asked if investigators have pinpointed a possible motive, Rouse said he believes that, “When we’re done, we’ll have as close to an answer on the why as you’re going to be able to come to without talking with (Paddock).”

But before that conclusion is made and publicly announced, investigators need to ensure that determination comes from evidence and facts and not from speculation or assumption, Rouse said, asking for patience from the public. "It won't be as fast as people would want it to be. This isn't a TV show."

You'll be lucky to get any takers on that bet. ISIS did claim credit for flipping the alleged gunman. I wouldn't be surprised if you're right.

It's been dead quiet for several weeks now. Something's up we're not being told about. This is not what it has appeared at first blush.

Usually means the authorities are ginning up their evidence and getting their stories straight. I feel an official cover-up coming soon.

Forgive my cynicism.

Witnesses stated she had a male hispanic companion and both were escorted out by security becuase they were harassing/upsetting the concert goers in front of them......Is that so difficult to follow-up on?.....Security was involved...

Any security worth anything would at a minimum id the harassers and place a report in the log. And, an eyewitnesses reported someone throwing a lit string of firecrackers into the crowd. That is dangerous behavior and unusual, might have warranted a serious charge of endangering the crowd, similar and just as harmful as yelling "fire" in a crowded theater. And, multiple eyewitnesses saw the taunting Hispanic female in a black SUV. No one got tag number or description? No mention of these events by investigators?

Did they conduct a serious investigation, or are they trying to create a narrative for public consumption?

Well, typical poor writing from a “journalist”. Laptop was found in the room. Hard drive from it is missing. Reporter and cops have not clarified if hard drive was in said laptop when it was found, or if it was already missing when cops arrived. Either way, it’s an important detail that one would expect an intrepid reporter to ferret out.

Journalists are hired for their integrity, not their writing skills, right?

LOL! These days they aren't hired for either integrity (ha!) or skills. If they're starting out, their degree gets them in. Later it's the resume of where they worked, samples of their work, and who they know. Editors, such as they are these days, wouldn't know quality if it rose up and bit them.

Yep.

When I was in school the journalism majors were the party animils with lots of time on their hands.

It is unacceptable how Americans have been left in the dark about this horrific crime. I had 2 young relatives there, who ran for their lives and survived but are of course never going to get that night out of their minds.

It is even hard to find articles on this on FR.
It’s completely absent in the lame stream media.

How can that night from hell happen, and a month later, there is nothing....very troubling.

I haven’t listened this week, but I believe Infowars is still devoting airtime to it on some of their shows.

It is because we have a lemming-like news media with a short news cycle. Now they are not talking about the horrific attack in New York...moved on to the next big thing...

And half the country has the mind of a goldfish so they can’t retain any facts let alone curiosity!

Glad your relatives survived. Sorry anyone had to go thru it~!!

Around the internet, there has been plenty of shared info regarding motives ...again I direct you to Infowars. They are not always right, but they do tend to latch onto a story until they feel they have sufficiently covered facts.

Speaking of facts, the fact that they are being maligned so strongly by faux media and late night TV tells me they have some credibility ;)

I agree, half the country is about as smart as a bag of hammers.
