Former Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO), a strong advocate against illegal immigration, will reportedly run for Colorado gubernatorial election in 2018.
Tancredo decided to enter the race for governor after a private poll revealed that he had a wide lead over other potential Republican candidates.
The survey also revealed that Tancredo has a statistical tie with Democratic candidate Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO).
Tancredo told Colorado Politics on Monday, I think that all of the things we need to do in the state of Colorado really require some bold leadership. It will not be easy to get some real change here, but I think I can provide that kind of leadership. Im not afraid of taking on tough issues and being bold.

Can he win? Be realistic.
If he wins the nomination, I'll certainly vote for him...but I wouldn't expect him to win.

He was instrumental in stopping Ws amnesty. Good man!
You can thank me. The last time I saw him (at a charity event) I begged him to run.
He listened!

He was alone in the wilderness before anyone else, I think with Trump as president and the left being as unhinged as ever, he has a chance...
really good news. Tom’s probably the most credible candidate we could have right now ...

I agree.
Colorado was conservative when I lived there in the sixties....what happened to it ??
“Colorado was conservative when I lived there in the sixties....what happened to it ??”
What happened was the influx of Californians. Unfortunately it continues and we also get a lot of young people from the east coast.
PS. Unless there is a seismic shift, he does not have a chance. Colorado went for HRC in 2016 and it wasn’t close. We have a Dem governor (haven’t had an R governor in a long time) and the state is full of millennials whose signature issue is the environment.
I don’t think he’s out of the game based on CO’s 2016 numbers =>
HRC - 48.2%
DJT - 43.3%
Alepo - 5.2%
California types moved there. that’s what happened.
He retired from congress. He didn’t lose. When he ran as an independent, he did well, but Chris Christie wouldn’t give him money and he lost the race.
After spending several months ago in Colorado, I felt the prevailing stickiness of liberalism clinging to my skin like poison ivy. It is pervasive. It is everywhere. It sucks the air and life out of the breeze.
Any Republican running for Governor has an uphill battle.
I like him, but George Brauchler is a much better choice.
“Can he win? Be realistic.”
We’ve been inundated by California and New York City Marxists.
