A man driving a rental truck plowed into pedestrians and cyclists on a jogging and bike path in lower Manhattan in New York City Tuesday afternoon, killing at least eight people and injuring many others in what New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called a "cowardly act of terror."
The sprawling crime scene runs about 10 blocks along the West Side Highway, a few blocks away from One World Trade Center.
A suspect was apprehended at the scene. Multiple law enforcement officials told ABC News that the suspect in custody was identified as 29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov of Tampa, Florida.

I used to walk around that path when I commuted to work in NYC. I had a pied a terre looking over the Battery, and was there having breakfast on 9/11.
I must say, I kept an eye out for crazy truck or car drivers, when I walked the path because that was one of the known instruments of terror.
There are some obscure places on their riot schedule.
We never have this problem with U-Haul trucks, tougher renting standards? Artwork on the sides makes them more visible?
The car bombs or the steamrolling huge crowds of people with a full 18 wheeler? France had a similar vehicular mass murder not so long ago.

There is no such thing as a "lone-wolf in this type of terror and murder. He may have acted alone without contact with ISIS but it is the ideology of hate promulugated in the Mosques and via the Internet that makes it a matrix of hate and murder inspired by ISIS and radical Muslim philosophy.
When it comes to this type of violence there are no Lone Wolfs.
