Fort Bragg, North Carolina (CNN)Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl teared up at his sentencing on Monday as he apologized to service members who searched for him after he deserted his outpost in Afghanistan in 2009.
"My words can't take away what people have been through," Bergdahl, 31, told an audience at his court martial that spilled into an overflow room. "I am admitting I made a horrible mistake."
Bergdahl pleaded guilty October 16 to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. His lengthy testimony began after the presiding judge rejected his attorneys' request to dismiss the case over President Trump's criticism of him during his campaign for the White House.

There were factions of the US Military that were convinced he defected from the get go. He was not a big player in unit cohesion or a team soldier. The Pentagon always insisted that he was captured.

Because PRESIDENT Barack Hussein Obama MMM never said or did ANYTHING to bias the case in FAVOR of Mr. Bergdahl. The suspicious details of his disappearance were suppressed in the media and military. He was a known fink.
Hasn’t he said that the US is treating him worse than the Taliban (who allegedly raped him)?

A horrible mistake is spilling black coffee on a white shag carpet, what this prick did was treason, and he should have been executed as a private, instead of being promoted to Sargent.

My guess is ten years in Leavenworth which will be reduced to five years due to his five years in “captivity”. Then, he will be eligible for parole after serving a couple of years. Then, maybe a book deal followed by a movie and he’ll be set for life.

Lawyer told him to cry and act sad because it might reduce his sentence. The “judge” has already hinted that sentence will “be fair despite Trump’s comments” which means the fix is in. I say fair would be life in Leavenworth but let him live - and have loops of the testimony about those he got injured/killed playing 24/7 in his 5x5 cell.
Now that he got that off of his chest, HANG HIM.
I thought Fox just mentioned in their report that Berghdal and his parents aren’t speaking. Also reported that he blames his dad because his dad is the one who told him to just walk away from camp. (Paraphrased).
