A group of professors argues in a newly-published book that math teachers must “live out social justice commitments” to fight privilege in the classroom.

The professors made the argument in a new anthology for math teachers, jointly authored by a trio of Mathematics Education professors: Pennsylvania State University’s Andrea McCloskey, Kennesaw State University Professor Brian Lawler, and Ohio State University Professor Theodore Chao.

Back when I was in college, we had math majors and teaching math majors. The teaching math majors were not the sharpest tools in the proverbial shed. We spent three days in the integral calculus class trying to figure out what happened to the dx when one integrated, thanks to them.

guess i am weird. i love geometry and trig. i just got the 2018 math problem a day calendar. granted a third are beyond me but it is fun. then again i am 66 years old and went to a college prep public high school in Baltimore.

this whole concept of making everyone equal but stupid is disgusting. Teach people to do better and they will. Teach them to be victims and that will be the result as we ae seeing on the sjw plantation.
