Robert Mueller's well-timed indictment
American Thinker.com ^ | October 29, 2017 | Martin Marus

Special Counsel Robert Mueller plans to indict someone this week, we are told. Nobody knows whom or for what, but I know why. People suspect that a Trump ally will be indicted for something vaguely related to colluding with the Russian Government. We do not know any more details than that because we just cannot find any crime there. So why is there such a hurry to indict a Republican now?

The key is that the indictment comes in late October. Right before a November election. There is pattern of October indictments against Republicans.

A previous indictment that came at this time of year was against Sheriff Joe Arpaio. On October 25, 2016, Arpaio was indicted for contempt of court. On November 8, 2016, he lost his re-election bid. In 2017, he was denied the right to a jury trial, convicted, then pardoned by President Trump.

And of course it’s done in the normal manner, where the prosecutor announces to the press a few days early that he’ll be making arrests in a few days.

Retarded. More corruption...

And I’m still waiting for someone to explain this crime of “colluding”. Or how Trump violated it but the Clinton crime family didn’t.

On November 7, there will be two gubernatorial, one congressional, and several mayoral elections, so the Democrats have plenty of incentive.

Who is running that's pro-Trump? I haven't kept track.

It’s obvious Weissman who is an over aggressive hack, ran in and filed these indictments because there was talk of cutting their budget and even firing Mueller.

Who are the democrats who will be standing, mic in hand, ready for the cameras to roll when the announcement is made?

Wouldn’t it be a fun twist, if it’s one of them?

Yeah, I know, but a girl can dream, can’t she?

Don’t think it was an announcement....it was a leak, to a campaign organization masquerading as a news network.

....and few seem concerned that Grand Jury proceedings are being leaked.

How was Arpaio denied a right to a jury trial.

Not only that.

Mueller did a Friday news "dump" so his impending action could dominate the weekend news cycle and the Sunday news talk shows.

If that doesn't convince people that he is just another political animal working the media nothing will.

I’ve hardly read or heard anything about this pending indictment anywhere except here on FreeRepublic. In fact, it seems like many news outlets are steering clear of the story because it is so lacking in important details. For at least half a day CNN was the only one reporting the story at all.

Mueller is skating on very thin ice. He’d better be wearing a wetsuit.

He didn’t really have a right to a jury trial. He was charged with what is known as a “petty offense” with no exposure to serious punishment, and most jurisdictions do not require juries for these cases. I believe a “petty offense” is defined as any charge where the maximum penalty is a six-month jail sentence.

It’s not just the elections, it’s the recent uptick in info damaging to Hillary and the Democrats that Mueller wants to get out of the headlines. But in all likelihood, whatever indictment is made, it probably had nothing to do with the Trump campaign or the 2016 election, but with something done years ago and/or for private financial motives unrelated to the election or the Trump campaign.

What boggles the mind is simply that Mueller is supposedly an honest law man and attorney. One has to wonder how much his ideology interferes with doing a honest job in following the law.
