BREAKING: FIRST CHARGES FILED IN MUELLER INVESTIGATION (CNN)
CNN ^ | 27 Oct 17 | Pamela Brown, Evan Perez and Shimon Prokupecz

Posted on 10/27/2017 5:47:01 PM PDT by Drew68

Washington (CNN) — A federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter. The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge.

Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said.

It is unclear what the charges are. A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment.

Mueller was appointed in May to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Under the regulations governing special counsel investigations, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has oversight over the Russia investigation, would have been made aware of any charges before they were taken before the grand jury for approval, according to people familiar with the matter.

On Friday, top lawyers who are helping to lead the Mueller probe, including veteran prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, were seen entering the court room at the DC federal court where the grand jury meets to hear testimony in the Russia investigation.

Reporters present saw a flurry of activity at the grand jury room, but officials made no announcements.

(snip)

Mueller is authorized to investigate "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation," according to Rosenstein's order.

The special counsel's investigation has focused on potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, as well as obstruction of justice by the President, who might have tried to impede the investigation.

CNN reported that investigators are scrutinizing Trump and his associates' financial ties to Russia. Mueller's team has also examined foreign lobbying conducted by former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and others. His team has issued subpoenas for documents and testimony to a handful of figures...

CNN reporter just said they(CNN) know who it is but not reporting it because those individuals haven’t been notified yet.......WTF? CNN finds out first? and one of the reporters just said they aren’t reporting the names. as in PLURAL

Folks on MSNBC seemed quietly happy last night... the usual crazies on "Joy" acted like it could bring down Trump. Of course they always act that way...

I don't believe CNN knows - CNN leads with Fake News all the time. If CNN knows then they (and whomever told them)are in violation of an order from a federal court.

Im betting that since the first targets were Manifort and Flynn, it is probably one or both of them and POTUS should pardon them immediately since Muller is tied to Clinton and U1

In my dreams though - Rice and Powers for unmasking which is a clear criminal act and easily chargeable since they've both admitted guilt publicly already, plus, - it makes Muller look "bipartisan" Either way, Manifort could be indicted for jaywalking on Monday and that will take an entire week of 24/7 coverage by the Morning Joe's and Mika's of the media.

My guess Manafort and Kishner. Mueller will go as far as he can with what he has to drive Trump into a rage, he wants to be fired.

Not the President....too much prior history in Watergate about not being able to indict a sitting president.

I don't know what time Congress was notified that sealed indictments were handed down yesterday, but this Schiff response to the President's tweet strikes me as "timely".

Also surprising is that Sara Carter, Circa News, who appears nightly on Hannity, liked Schiff's tweet.

I know, I know, call me crazy but.....sometimes the little things makes ones radar go off.

From 1990 to 1993, he prosecuted public corruption cases as a trial attorney with the Public Integrity Section of the Criminal Division, then led by Assistant Attorney General Robert Mueller.[11][13]

Attorney General Eric Holder appointed Rosenstein to prosecute General James Cartwright, a former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, for leaking to reporters.[14] Rosenstein’s aggressive prosecution secured a guilty plea from Cartwright, who was ultimately pardoned by President Barack Obama.[14]

Rod Rosenstein is married to Lisa Barsoomian, an Armenian American lawyer who works for the National Institutes of Health.

I think Manafort will be charged in a process crime such as obstruction of justice or perjury. Manafort likely committed these; the pre-dawn raid with guns drawn on his home appears as if he was not on the up and up with Mueller.

Process crime.....still proving nothing happened beyond that.

It’s going to take more than voting or writing to congress. They’re using rules and regulations to obstruct justice. It’s rotten to the core. Time to throw it out. I agree with you.

They can come close. The real underlying crime is that all of the targets are or were allied with Trump. None of this nor any charges would have ever been made if there were Trump supporters. This is banana Republic territory and Mueller, Comey and the rest of their co conspirators should have long since been dealt with.

One thing for sure, these next few weeks are going to get interesting!

As I go from one airport to the next, I believe the airports have turned up the volume of CNN substantially! I really wish I did not need to travel while all of this is going on. The coverage is really bad!

This is not just another political fight. The consequences and end of this fight could decisively change the course of our system of governance.

No real crimes actually have to be proved.

If I recall correctly, while the circumstances were different, and a presidential election was about to take place between Bush and Clinton, President Bush had several members of his cabinet actually indicted!

After he lost the election, all of the indictments were dropped!

The left truly plays dirty, and for keeps.

I do not believe Mueller is some kind of quiet good guy here.

He has been covering up truly monstrous crimes committed against our country, for the Clintons and Obama, for a long time.

Additionally, congress is now on the Mueller’s heals, and after last week, within weeks of taking Mueller down for providing cover for real crimes.

If Trump is the patriot many believe, and he had any idea of the massive corruption Mueller had been involved in, it is not plausible Trump would secretly task Mueller to take out those individuals Mueller had previously and illegally and loyally covered for!

Additionally, I do not believe Trump would have deliberately gone along with the Mueller pick, if Trump knew Mueller would then be acting in actual violation of federal statutes regarding conflict of interest and investigators and investigations.

As well, neither the Clintons or Obama would have ever appointed Mueller if he had been politically moderate or a conservative honest individual.

The Uranium One and Skolkovo cover-ups are truly RICO worthy, massive, seditious, and treasonous, and likely include hundreds of anti-American actors within our government.

I believe what is coming could potentially require the intervention of both SCOTUS and Congress.

The question is, will the Republicans realize in time, if they do not literally make a stand for what is right, and defend Trump against the lawlessness about to exercise its full anger, it may well mark the end of US government as we/they know it.

This degree of corruption and effort to take over our Constitutional Republic by the socialist within our ranks, is astounding.

It is still quite possible to correct the course we are on, to see justice and our freedom preserved. There are still good guys in high places, but thanks to the anti-American socialist left, a real show-down cannot be avoided. I truly hope and pray moral courage wins the day!

However, this travesty against all that is good and Constitutionally lawful, is already beginning to present as possibly one of the most egregious Constitutional crisis events in American History.

This could potentially go down as the greatest crisis next to the Civil War itself...

Evil does exist, and we are in a consequential war with it!

Ultimately God wins!

I just hope America choses His side against this very real evil.

My friend pinged me this article my first instinct was they’ve got to have something they have had nothing for too long and now with the dossier and uranium one at cetera they look like fools look forward to reading the comments followed by watching Muller at Al fall on their faces one of these scumbags going to be fired and the right people arrested
