Washington (CNN) — A federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter. The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge.
Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said.
It is unclear what the charges are. A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment.
Mueller was appointed in May to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Under the regulations governing special counsel investigations, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has oversight over the Russia investigation, would have been made aware of any charges before they were taken before the grand jury for approval, according to people familiar with the matter.
On Friday, top lawyers who are helping to lead the Mueller probe, including veteran prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, were seen entering the court room at the DC federal court where the grand jury meets to hear testimony in the Russia investigation.
Reporters present saw a flurry of activity at the grand jury room, but officials made no announcements.

Mueller is authorized to investigate "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation," according to Rosenstein's order.
The special counsel's investigation has focused on potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, as well as obstruction of justice by the President, who might have tried to impede the investigation.
CNN reported that investigators are scrutinizing Trump and his associates' financial ties to Russia. Mueller's team has also examined foreign lobbying conducted by former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and others. Mueller is up to his neck in the Uranium One scheme. He headed up the FBI at the time and did nothing about it, thus becoming complicit in the act.

Think about it: What exactly could he have done, what with being in the Obola Admin and all.
It has been explained and I cant quote it, but as soon as he could do something about it, he took it to POTUS DJT.

No matter what Mueller does, no matter who he indicts, he looks incredibly corrupt at this point (except to the ANTIFA, BLM, MSM crowd who could care the less of how Trump is taken down as long as he is). He especially looks corrupt in light of a week of news that paints him as a compromised public official.
It would be one thing if the dossier and uranium matters were the stuff of blogs, but when the NeverTrump Wall Street Journal calls Mueller’s resignation, that is something else. Next week we will have dueling banjos. Mueller, the meat puppet of HRC, Obama and the Deep State will have his indictments and on the other side the documents from the FBI and Fusion GPS will be hitting the shelves.
But whatever Mueller tries, he can’t escape his own stench at this point. It was a deliberate and purposeful act to leak information about a sealed indictment. It looks bafoonish that it would happen at such a time. Follow the beneficiaries of his actions and he is at the top of the list.
This is a coup d’etat we are witnessing. They meant it to go much slower than this but once the uranium and dossier stories hit, Mueller had to speed up his time line. The Cold Civil War could be heating up sooner rather than later.
