Washington (CNN) — A federal grand jury in Washington, DC, on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter. The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge.
Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said.
It is unclear what the charges are. A spokesman for the special counsel's office declined to comment.
Mueller was appointed in May to lead the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Under the regulations governing special counsel investigations, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has oversight over the Russia investigation, would have been made aware of any charges before they were taken before the grand jury for approval, according to people familiar with the matter.
On Friday, top lawyers who are helping to lead the Mueller probe, including veteran prosecutor Andrew Weissmann, were seen entering the court room at the DC federal court where the grand jury meets to hear testimony in the Russia investigation.
Reporters present saw a flurry of activity at the grand jury room, but officials made no announcements.

Mueller is authorized to investigate "any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation," according to Rosenstein's order.
The special counsel's investigation has focused on potential collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, as well as obstruction of justice by the President, who might have tried to impede the investigation.
CNN reported that investigators are scrutinizing Trump and his associates' financial ties to Russia. Mueller's team has also examined foreign lobbying conducted by former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and others. His team has issued subpoenas for documents and testimony to a handful of figures...

Mueller leaks what he wants the media to report. The fact that the media is not reporting the name, means the media don’t know anymore than we do who the person is. So anybody going apoplectic because of some perceived body language is just being silly.

Basically everyone has an opinion on how CNN is reacting..some say they are all giddy, while others on twitter say they dont look happy..so its hard to judge by saying “See how CNN is reacting do they look happy or sad” because everyone will say something different

Nah!!!......Mueller, deep state and media needs a scalp to claim some kind of vindication of the Russian investigation, even though getting Manfort on tax fraud or money laundering or whatever....maybe like 15 years ago that has nothing to do with the Russians collusion narrative doesn’t mean squat in getting Trump or stopping his agenda. They’ll claim victory none the less as the dossier and Uranium One story’s heats up. If it is Manfort or even Flynn it’s just to give Obama and Hillary and both establishments time and breathing room at least for a couple of months more in their eyes. I would dare say it’s may be giving them time to threaten harm to them and their love ones of those who may flip on the dossier or Uranium One story to stay quiet or change their minds

While I don’t trust establishment media like CNN...I’m not going to accept anonymous sources on 4chains....the deep state (team obama/clinton) probably could find that person out in a few hours and that’s a risk no source would take. I remember all of those sources saying about having the goods on obama scandals and none of it came out as they said it was
