It may not be politically popular to raise concerns about the human rights of Islamic State fighters and their families. But the International Committee of the Red Cross, which has monitored the treatment of the wounded, prisoners and civilians in wartime for a century and a half, sought to do just that in a strongly worded statement on Thursday.
The organization is concerned about rhetoric that dehumanizes and demonizes the enemy or suggests that a particular adversary is outside the bounds of humanity and can be treated as if humanitarian law doesnt apply, the groups deputy director for the Middle East, Patrick Hamilton, told reporters via a telephone conference call.

These idiots patch up our enemies so they can bomb and murder us the next chance they get. They are complicit in their actions and they have the gall to lecture us. F em.
Awww...sniff. What’s a matter? They’re not buying your donuts you got for free, Red Cross?
The Red Cross did not have any presence nor did they seek one when ISIS was committing barbaric atrocities and real victims needed help. They have no moral authority to lecture anyone.
So, why have we spent the last 72 years tracking down every Nazi we can? Yet we no longer look for Japanese war criminals.
If members of ISIS were soldiers of a sovereign nation, the Red Cross would have a leg to stand on. But the Geneva Convention says nothing about the treatment of terrorists or any other common outlaws. In that sense they can be killed on sight, just like the Royal Navy used to do with pirates.
Their voices are fading fast, but my Dad and quite a few of his fellow WWII veterans despised the Red Cross.
They’re doing an infamous job of dehumanizing themselves.
Haven’t given tot eh RC in years. Those holier-than-thou liberals are bad to the bone.
This article presents additional evidence.
Any way, the Red Cross and Salvation Army showed up, the former wanted donations for the donuts and coffee, while the latter did not.
The Red Cross needs to invest some of its significant “administration costs” in some public relations consultants, because they are really shooting themselves in the foot.
Yep! My father too. And all my uncles.
You can not dehumanize that which never was human in the first place.
Moslems respecting human rights
Caution: Breathtakingly disturbing photo
I will talk about humans in human terms. jihadis and islamic state fighters are subhumans.
Really? For real?
Since “ISIS” groups are throwing people in ovens and industrial blenders, wood chippers etc etc, my give-a-shit meter doesn’t even register.
Is the RC for real? The principle at work here, is that the aggressor sets the rules of engagement. ANYTHING else is insane.
outside the bounds of humanity
“ humanitarian law doesnt apply”
I think that checks the boxes when it comes to members of ISIS
Hey Red (Islam/Commie) Cross, at least were not cutting off their heads for the cameras and holding their severed heads up by their hair, or would you prefer our treatment of those terrorists equal theirs of us?
