In a move sending shock waves through Texas politics, House Speaker Joe Straus . . . said he wouldnt seek re-election.
Mr. Straus was seen as a moderate bulwark against the Tea Party and hard-line wings of the Texas GOP, and his surprise decision Wednesday came after a bitter legislative session during which he was often at odds with a more socially conservative legislative bloc.
Mr. Straus helped defeat a push by social conservativesincluding the governor and lieutenant governorto restrict public-bathroom options for transgender people. It was only one of a range of issues on which he clashed with Republican leaders in the state.

Every notice that once Weinstien and others started getting taken out because of their sexual assaults, a lot of politicians jumped also? I'm sure those types are birds of a feather, but I think different forces are pushing the RINOs to exit.

Wouldn’t the Wendy Davis fiasco have been in 2015? I thought the txlege convened only in odd years.
To: Tolerance Sucks Rocks
Thanks for catching the error. Actually the Davis fiasco was in 2013. She was defeated in the governor race in 2014 by Greg Abbott, 59-38%.

The term Undocumented Democrats is such a great term today.
It describes the rats like McAinal pretending to be republicans so well.
I didn’t develop it, but I stole er borrowed it quickly after seeing it.
Take care my FRiend.
