Of all the candidates for utopia, Stockton, California would be on the bottom of my list. But a 27-year-old mayor, with the backing of a foundation, is trying for utopia, as seen by supporters of the Mommy State: Universal Basic Income. Futurism.com writes:
Stockton, California, is about to become the first city to test government-supported universal basic income in the U.S. The program is the idea of the city's 27-year-old mayor and will be primarily funded by the basic income advocacy group Economic Security Project.

There is no dumber or more evil idea that this basic income scheme. Guaranteed to produce a permanent underclass totally beholden the the government. I would only support it if the people that get it are sterilized and lose their right to vote.

It would solve the homeless crisis in Los Angeles and other large cities. Just use your imagination. Greyhound buses lined up for miles and miles dropping relocated homeless folks off.

Stockton? As in, Kalifornia? I used to live in the valley. Even back then, Stockton was not very nice. And it's only gotten worse.
The delusion is strong in that place.

to go into farming.Unless you're born to it, that is almost always a mistake. Like buying a boat.

That looks like Nick Barclay from the late 1960’s TV series, “The Big Valley.”
But Hop Sing was in Virginia City, Nevada. I most definitely would rather live in Virginia City in the present day than Stockton.

Stockton - a s**thole of the first order. Not a city to which any rational human being would consider moving.

Ive taken that same drive several times going to Sonora. It is a scary place for a woman alone. Would not want to have to spend the night there.
