President Trump called on the Department of Justice and FBI to reveal who paid opposition research firm Fusion GPS to produce the infamous anti-Trump dossier of research compiled last year by former British spy Christopher Steele.
Officials behind the now discredited Dossier plead the Fifth, Trump wrote on Twitter on Saturday. Justice Department and/or FBI should immediately release who paid for it.

Trump was referring to Fusion co-founders Peter Fritsch and Thomas Catan pleading the Fifth during interviews with the House Intelligence Committee earlier this week.
The committee has recently ramped up its efforts to investigate the dossier. In addition to the subpoena for Fusions co-founders, the panel earlier this month subpoenaed Fusions bank, TD Bank, for records that would disclose the identities of its clients.

I cannot buy into the idea that Sessions is as feckless as he often appears to be as A.G. How could this be so, after taking courageous, nearly solitary stands at times in the Senate, for years, over immigration ... after prosecuting KKK in Alabama etc.?
Hence, it is more plausible to me that he is doing exactly what Trump wants, and silently taking the heat for it.
I HOPE this includes building cases against the Clinton/Obama gang, and waiting to time the release of these for when the Mueller thing comes to a head, one way or the other.
Actually, I see a similar strategy (of Trump’s) in terms of the “apparent” forays off the reservation by his top cabinet secretaries, such as Tillerson and even Mattis. Notice that Trump seldom criticizes them for apparently contradicting him.
This appears to me to be a highly sophisticated tactic of political rhetoric bringing COMPLETE CONFUSION TO THE ENEMIES. Then, when Trump feels the sound and fury of debate is in EXACTLY the RIGHT PLACE AND TIME, he finishes the argument with executive action (nomination/E.O./pull the rug from “treaty” etc.)
In combat, these moves would be the process of CREATING AN OPENING ... and then striking. It is a matter of “instinct, not planning, at least not in the sense of planning a specific combination. This is something I am positive Trump learned in business. It is why he is WINNING EVERY TIME against career government types. HE KNOWS HOW TO FIGHT, and there is MUCH MORE TO IT than the shots that meet the eye.
Not to belabor the point, but I’m on a roll: Many of those apparent shots (like the Tweets) are NOT intended to be the winning strikes, or even necessarily to harm the opponent. Often their purpose is to CREATE THE REAL OPENING.
Incidentally, letting the Leftist media think Bannon and Gorka were leaving the field of battle was another effecttive deception. In fact, it is clear they are more effective than ever now as spokesmen for the “Real” Trump, where he doesn’t then have to answer for all their statements until it fits his exact generalship/timing of the war.
McCain s probably mad that he didn’t. Just can’t connect him to it since he flew to London to pick it up.
Yes, who hired them to create the smear campaign?
That's my thinking as well. Bannon is now developing a slate of candidates to "primary" unhelpful Republicans next year. I do not think this could have happened if Bannon was still in the White House. I think Trump is secretly on board with what Bannon is doing but now he can "distance" himself from Bannon and continue to work with the Republicans in place in the meantime under the pretext that Bannon has "gone off the reservation" and doesn't support his views.
It's a nice touch that Trump has offered to reach out to Bannon and get him to back off on his crusade to take out Republican incumbents. I can only imagine how those private conversations (between Trump and Bannon) must have been like just before he left: "Now Steve, I'm going to have to publicly criticize you from time to time and pretend you have gone rogue on me, in order that I can get a few things done in the senate this year, but between you and me, full speed ahead and help me get some good folks into Congress next year."
As for Jeff Sessions, I have to believe that if he is really as disappointing and feckless as he is being made out to be, Trump would have canned him long ago. It's quite possible that this act is all smoke and mirrors, intended to distract our attention and that some serious "Art of War" stuff is going on here behind the scenes.
He just did. What do you think and order sounds like?
You get it.
The moronic Sessions bashers here will soon be here to attack you.
Some day, when the dominoes start to fall, they will quietly slink away, never to appear on FR again under the same username.
What’s interesting to me is Trump directly implying DOJ/FBI already knows who paid.
Say It !!! Say It !!!
He knows it was McLettuce.
Didn’t McCain send a staffer to UK to pursue leads on the dossier?
Why does Fox News still employ Rove? He is on from time to time.
And Trump is letting them get away with it. These two organizations are so swamp filled that he would probably dump at least onf fourth of them.
hhahahahahaha
does trump think SESSIONS will stop test driving his MY PILLOW long enough to do anything job related ....
SESSIONS is a useless pos....
Trump adapted it to Twitter.

By keeping the issue alive, Trump keeps the Dem fever swamps focused on an irrelevancy, while he gets meaningful work done.
Later, when he really needs to drop this bomb, he can. In the mean time, every leftist is continuing to dig their hole deeper.
When the time comes, his passing will be much worse than the Paul Wellstone memorial. "And a private poll by Bill Clinton's former pollster, Mark Penn, suggests the service backfired on Democrats nationally as well."

My guess is: All of the above.
“Oh he knows.”
Yes, I do believe that he knows:
October 18, 2017:
Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump, hours after Sen. John McCain delivered a speech that repudiated the President, warned the Arizona Republican to “be careful” because at some point he will “fight back.”
The Chief Executive is in charge of the executive branch. There is no Constitutional "separation". You act like you don't understand that.
