Why wouldn't Thompson fire Avant? It's very simple. Avant knows what Thompson has taken in bribes and tax evasion!

These guys think it is still the Obama years where they can say and do whatever they want and not face any consequences. Of course, with a GOP loser like Paul Ryan running the show in the House, maybe they're right to think this way.

Some years back I had a gentleman in my team announce that he wanted to ‘go exempt’.
I called HR and was told to lay him off, they are not getting involved.
He reconsidered and is still employed with the same company.
Must be easier for a government employee?
