At the end of their lengthy editorial regarding the new Uranium One revelations -- "Team Obama's stunning coverup of Russian crimes" -- the New York Post editorial board writes:
Until September 2013, the FBI director was Robert Mueller whos now the special counsel probing Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Its hard to see how he can be trusted in that job unless he explains what he knew about this Obama-era cover-up.
I'll go the Post one better. Virtually whatever Mueller has to say about his involvement or non-involvement in this metastasizing scandal, he must recuse himself immediately for the most obvious reasons of propriety and appearance. Frankly, it's outrageous that he, Ron Rosenstein, or anyone who even touched the Uranium One investigation now be involved with the current probe -- unless the real name of the FBI is actually the NKVD. This is not how a democracy is supposed to work, even remotely. Forget transparency -- this was deliberate occlusion.

Uranium One Means Mueller Must Recuse Himself from Russia Probe
The DOJ seems to be the core of corruption in the District of Corruption.
Sessions couldnt possibly be as stupid as he would have to be not to be dirty at this point unless something happens TODAY to show SOME amount of justice here.
It’s not a conflict of interest. This whole Trump Russia hysteria is a cover-up of the real Russia scandal. Remember, the issue is that Hillary lost the election so all of the criminality that took place during Obama’s tenure can now be revealed.
My thoughts. Jeff Sessions is a good man but.....he, like many Republicans, refuse to play by the Democrats rules. They’re too genteel and law abiding so fail to see that the Democrats aren’t. Always expecting the best from them.
The Dems know this and take advantage of it every single day.
Seems ole Bobby Mueller was colluding with the Russians.
“All of this just makes me wonder if Trump knew this problem existed and had Sessions intentionally pick Mueller to get to this stage and be forced to resign while the Russia thing encompasses him.”
I don’t want him to resign. I want him to continue as a completely discredited hack with a clear conflict of interest hanging over his head.
Jeff has no leadership skills ,remember he was a Senator
NOT A WORD. I even searched for the words "uranium" and "Clinton Foundation" and the story didn't come up, except criticism of President Trump about Iran and Uranium.
ALL had top stories about President Trump disrespecting a slain serviceman to his widow. EVERY one of them.
I started checking Tuesday when the story was first online at TheHill.com. Nothing has changed since then except the Mainstream delight at Trump and the widow.
The Hill even has the President's tweet yesterday as a top story:
Trump: Uranium deal with Russia 'biggest story that Fake Media doesn't want to follow'
It's been up for 24 hours now, but this is one Tweet the media refuses to cover.
What do we make of this?
He will be forced to “recuse” himself because of all the MSM media coverage of this! /s
Why? The whole reason he weaseled into the job was because he was corrupt.
Yes, but what would force Sessions to actually do it. His job seems to be a principal protector the swamp and enabler of the Mueller conspiracy against Trump.
Rudy Giuliani’s rapid and nearly complete disappearance from the scene after Election Day has always led me to believe that his security firm was working with the Trump campaign in ways that might just now be coming to light.
Great. Now we need a special prosecutor to investigate Mueller.
Rats never recuse. Never.
Look, Mueller and his gang aren’t going to release anything of substance until around late summer 2018. They will hold any “big stuff” so they can try and steer the 2018 election by giving the corrupt MSM the ability to go wall-to-wall with aggrandized and dramatic non-charges, charges.
No, Trump needs to find an AG who believes in the Rule of Law. Sessions has been conspicuously absent on a variety of illegal activities.
I don’t think that there is a chance in hell that Mueller will voluntarily resign. Oh, it may be made to look like that on the surface, but the only way that he will leave is via a threat to his freedom.
My view on the whole sordid set of affairs related to Russia is the following: Hillary and Company knew exactly what they had done with regard to Uranium One, and that the potential consequences were prison time for every single person involved. However, they also believed in their bones that Hillary would win in 2016, and that nothing would ever come of their crimes (well, except for a lot of money in everybody’s bank account, depending upon their role in this criminal and traitorous conspiracy). However, none of them counted on Donald J Trump. This is a guy who simply does not lose, not when he has the slightest degree of control in any matter. So when it became a serious possibility that he would win, and especially in view of his threats to put Hillary in jail, the whole criminal enterprise went into overdrive to desperately cause Trump to lose, or to completely hamstring any investigation after he won. In short, they have gone on the offensive in an attempt to rock Trump back on his heels again and again. The good thing about this is that they did not have enough time to thoroughly plan things out and, because of that, the whole thing is now unraveling.
I have a feeling that Trump and his inner circle have known about this since sometime early last year, and perhaps a good deal earlier than that. Maybe it is even the reason why Trump ran, because he was so disgusted with what happened, and the possibility that an ultra-corrupt regime would come to power. There are still people who are loyal in our government, and I am fairly certain that at least a few of them approached him in one way or another and made sure that he was aware of what was going on. All of this maneuvering, including the recusal of Sessions and the appointment of Mueller, are part of a Kabuki theater that is being masterminded by Trump...or at least I hope that it is. Trump may be relatively new to national politics, but to be a successful commercial real estate developer in New York and a score of other cities around the country and the world, you are necessarily involved in politics, and politics with less coverage (which is to say, more corruption). So, despite his apparent newness in the political arena, Trump is not a babe in the woods. I think that he is much smarter than most people give him credit for. You don’t turn a $1,000,000 loan into a multibillion-dollar fortune by being anything but brilliant.
Just my $0.02.
