The U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) issued a detainer request on the Sonoma County Jail for Jesus Fabian Gonzalez, who was arrested Sunday on suspicion of arson in Wine Country fires that have killed at least 40 residents.
Breitbart News reported earlier this week that Sonoma County Sheriffs had arrested Jesus Fabian Gonzalez, 29, at Maxwell Regional Park in Sonoma County after a series of reports of ongoing fires in the region. Mr. Gonzalez was observed around 3:00 p.m. PDT wearing a jacket and walking out of the creek area and a plume of smoke behind him, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.
Mr. Gonzalez, who is homeless and reportedly known by law enforcement to have been living under a nearby bridge, claimed he was cold and had lit the fire to stay warm. But it was a balmy 78 degrees when he and the plume of smoke were first observed.
Mr. Gonzalez was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for suspicion of felony arson. His bail was set at a steep $110,000, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff Public Information Officer.

Sonoma sheriff shoots down right-wing reports linking arson suspect to wine country fires

The arrest of a 29-year-old Latino man this weekend on suspicion of starting a small fire in Californias scorched wine country ignited a firestorm of its own on right-wing media sites whose articles linked him without evidence to the catastrophic fires that have killed at least 28 people in the area.
Sonoma County Sheriff Rob Giordano forcefully shot down the allegations at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
There is a story out there that hes the arsonist in these fires, Giordano said. Thats not the case. Theres no indication hes related to these fires at all. ... I wanted to kill that speculation right now, so we didnt have things running too far out of control.
Right-wing websites including Breitbart and InfoWars Tuesday each published stories on the Sunday arrest of Jesus Fabian Gonzales, whom sheriffs deputies arrested on a single count of arson.
Please ping me with a link if and when you find it re these other arrests.
When CNBC has the story; it’s pretty mainstream !
The maps I have seen show multiple fires, several miles apart, that started nearly simultaneously. One homeless guy cannot be responsible for that.
Jihadis can coordinate and cause fires at the same time.
Please ping me if you find anything more about any arson.
They’re going to have to do better than a single Illegal fall guy. I mean exactly how do they justify coming to the feds hat in hand when one of their protected Illegals is the sole culprit.
It kinda looks like arson anyway even if this guy didn’t do, but if it was dreamers, we’re not going to get the truth. I say the the Fed shouldn’t give any disaster funds to California. They haven’t been cooperating over illegal immigration.
ya just gotta love it. The Progs are gonna go full bore to protect the illegal alien that burned down half the state, including it’s world class wine district!
ping
Whatever happened with the guy they had in custody who was caught setting a school there on fire? No name or ID was ever given on him. This happened a couple days into the fires. Bet he was set free by Moonbeam.
But, but, see, he was carrying around a fire extinquisher. Don't all homeless guys carry fire extinquishers? Proof positive he's not an arsonist. Right, huh?
What ever happened to Kate Steinle’s (illegal alien) murderer?
Are Californian’s going to keep turning a blind eye to these perps???
How many more murders, at the hands of illegals, have to happen before the hard working tax payers/good citizens rise up against this leftist state govt?
I can only scratch my head, CA encourages homeless illegals to live under their bridges and do what they want, and then this. I’m speechless.
We have fires all over northern California, every year. These started far away from the homeless encampments other side of the hills. Maybe PG&E, maybe some idiot doing something dumb (a friend’s father once started one hunting, yes he was an idiot)
This one started in the wrong place at the wrong time. 70 MPH winds in exactly the worst direction. Everybody’s in enough trauma here without the conspiracy nutters stirring things up.
