Pope Francis Criticized the U.S. for Pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord
Fortune ^ | Pope Francis Criticized the U.S. for Pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord

Pope Francis implicitly criticized the United States on Monday for pulling out of the Paris agreement on climate change, praising it as a means to control the devastating effects of global warming.

The U.S. is the only country out of 195 signatories to have withdrawn from the accord, which aims to cut emissions blamed for the rise in temperatures.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the decision in June shortly after visiting the pope, a strong supporter of the deal. At the time a Vatican official said the move was a “slap in the face” for the pope and the Vatican.

I find his comments attacking the U. S. to be troubling. The U. S. is the only global entity fighting back the advance of Leftism and Globalism.

With all due respect to the Pope, surely he should be able to see what this world we be like without the United States leading the way.

China, Russia, the European Union would be the only alternatives.

As bad as China or Russia would be, it would be a total disaster if the E. U. were to gain ascendancy as the world’s titular leader.

This Pope’s brain is not firing on all cylinders.

He attacks the world’s last functioning defense against a Western Judeo-Christian ‘Godless world’.

LOl, so with 195 signatories but only the USA doing the paying and the other 194 sucking up the $$ and getting a pass of these Climate Accords. Countries like China & India can pollute to unprecedented levels as it helps them develop but screw the USA?

Just typical of all Obummer's deals, the USA gets screwed by crazy rules while the rest of the world esp America's enemies laugh at us.

Because the pope, who believes that god is all powerful and answers individual people’s prayers, also believes that man controls the climate.

Still waiting for them to drop the guards at the Vatican and letting all the homeless and refugees live there in available rooms and on the grounds/in the square.

Popes used to be responsible for sacred matters while “matters temporal” were left to sovereign nations, unless there was a great moral issue involved. Not this guy, he demeans the US and its president every chance he gets.

There is no man made climate change and the only effect of pulling out of the agreement is to avoid huge transfer payments from the U.S. to the rest of the world.

To be consistent with Catholic teaching it would be better to recognize the evil in promoting the fraud of man-made climate change, in its support for abortion and population control.

“Popes used to be responsible for sacred matters while “matters temporal” were left to sovereign nations”

Right——we all remember Rev. Robert Drinan.
