If you have the old Betty Crocker Cookbook, there’s a great recipe for “Filled Cookies.” Leave out the baking soda as that messes them up. Grandma would always have tons of years old jams and preserves that needed to be consumed. I’d make double batches of the recipe and fill the jams. Soooo, good. We ate them instead of pop tarts for breakfast. And all day long. The best were tomato preserve, oh my!!
