A recently-released research study sheds light on the values of white working-class voters in the United States and the reasons these voters strongly supported Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.
Three researchers from three different universities authored the study, titled White Working-Class Views on Belonging, Change, Identity and Immigration.
Open Society Foundations, a network of political organizations controlled by left-wing billionaire George Soros, funded the study.
The trio of researchers conducted the study by visiting four places between August 2016 and March 2017: Birmingham, Alabama; Dayton, Ohio; Tacoma, Washington; Phoenix, Arizona; and for some reason the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
The researchers spoke candidly with over 400 people who identify as members of the white working class.
Here is what they found:
In 2016, Trump was the hope and change candidate for white working-class voters
The participants in the study say they view Trump as strong and hardworking.
The Trump campaign personified an insurgent, anti-establishment rage against politics as normal,' according to the study participants.
In many ways, Trump was the hope and change candidate in 2016, as Obama had been in 2008, albeit representing different constituencies.

I’m happy for you!
Believe it or not - I’m not your enemy and only wish you well.
I do hope Trump succeeds as well.
I understood what you meant ;)
To characterize the Trump victory as a protest vote again sHitlery is a misreading of the situation entirely in ‘16.
It wasn’t my intention to characterize the entire vote that way.
I was merely agreeing with another FReeper as to our own motive.
Gee, what did the black and brown working class Trump voters have to say? Probably the exact same thing, IF they were even included in the ‘study’.
Nope, let’s make it all about race.
>>What exactly does working class mean?<<
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Just another attempt to put us in a box.
Middle Class is a better term, which would include small business owners, independent entrepreneurs, professionals (doctors, lawyers etc.) and people on salary.
I think it is everyone who does not live primarily off interest/dividends, or off welfare.
Want to piss off a liberal? Point out that Trump supporters are CERTAIN TO BE SMARTER on the average that the libtard crowd, whose lefty college professors and Ivy Leaguers swim with a school of unemployed, broken-home, drop-out and immigrant fellow travelers; most of whom are totally dependent on the government to take care of them.
By contrast, we are virtually certain to be self-sufficient, responsible and for the most part well-enough educated for whatever career path we have chosen.
Obviously the libtards, on average, are not even close to being as smart.
Soros is scum.
The question is: how will Soros use this research to hurt the American people? Because that's his goal... How will he use what he knows about us to manipulate us and hurt us and our children.
Here's how Soros and corrupt lying democrats will use this study. They'll run candidates who will reflect 'our' values... Not that they agree with us - but because Soros and democrats need to take back control of Congress and the Presidency. So they'll run people WE would consider voting for - knowing that those shills (if they win) will NEVER be given power. They're place holders. People used to regain power - then tossed.
Expect to see democrat candidates who “believe” in right to life, “an ethic of hard work, honesty and charity and a belief that people should support themselves and their families. It's a scam of course... Democrats don't care about our values... they care about winning enough seats to take power back. They they'll give it all - our country and everything we care about - to the elitesand the minioity thugs who prop them up.
If one NFL Team runs more yards than the other team it doesn't mean they “WON” because the game based on touchdowns NOT ON YARDS RUN.
The Presidential race war run on the basis of electoral votes NOT popular vote. Hillary and Trump were aware of that - they knew the definition of 'win' ...
This is the same. Trump didn't spend any time in California because he knew the state would go for Hillary - and that putting time or money into the State was a waste of resources.
BUT IF TRUMP HAD KNOW THE RACE WAS BASED ON ‘POPULAR VOTE’ HE WOULD HAVE SPENT LOTS OF TIME IN CALIFORNIA etc...
YOU do know that Bert, right?
I liked him a lot.
Your analogy to football yards gained seems off the mark. I’m not sure points scored is applicable.
The point I am attempting to make but apparently am not is not about winning or losing or yards gained. The presstitutes well know that the country is pretty much evenly divided and that balance can be tipped by constant barrage of anti Trump messages. All the celebratory action can be destroyed by one Trump miscue and his resultant destruction.
Trump’s victory was merely one battle. The war goes on. The outcome of the war is far from being determined.
The MSM HAS gone after Trump - newspapers, TV Networks, Hollywood, Talking heads AND the Democrat Party AND Republican Establishment. There's been a thousand " Trump miscues" by their standards... and none of them have taken him down.
My football analogy dealt with playing by 'the rules on the books'. If the electoral college was abolished Trump would run a different style campaign - one based on getting the popular vote. If a football team was told 'winning' would be based on 'yards ran' rather than 'touchdowns' the coaches would change the playbook.
I am pretty sure Mark Twain said that.
