Tennessee Titans player Rishard Matthews tweeted Thursday that hell quit the NFL if the league implements a rule forcing players to stand during the anthem.
No I will be done playing football, Matthews tweeted and ultimately deleted when asked if he would be willing to face punishment for not standing if a new rule is implemented.
This is a very dumb tweet, for multiple reasons. Matthews is forcing himself into a corner. What will he do if a new rule is passed, and the Titans call his bluff? Hes going to be out of a job that pays millions simply because he wont stand for the anthem.
Thats not smart business. This wouldnt be a problem if he had simply tweeted that hed be very upset, but instead he took it all the way. Should be really interesting to if he ends up following through on his threat or not.
Judge Napolitano (whom I don’t like at ALL) today said that the issue could play out that the players’ union will take this to court, and the players will win. It seems that the stadiums are government property (so he says; I didn’t know that), so they can’t be forced to do anything their management says re speech issues. On government property, the First Amendment rules.
Anyhow, this is a paraphrase, and how I recall the interview. (I could be wrong.)
Great! Let the players continue to systematically dismantle the “Not For Long” . . . maybe they will bring back ‘Family Classics’ for Sunday afternoons.
Gillette Stadium is owned by Bob Kraft-——not the government.

Stupid is as stupid does
Whatever... Just repeating what Da Judge said. I know less than nothing about football (and am proud of it).
Well, bye!
I got thinking about it-—maybe if it’s open to the public free speech applies.
Who knows?
All I do know is that the the country is unrecognizable.
.
Well, bye!
Buh bye.
