I took data from SportsMediaWatch.com to look at television viewership at NFL games 2014-2017.
Most of the data in news reports compares same day games from last year to this year, (ie; MNF from one year to the next).
I decided to look at the aggregate of each week's data over the last four seasons to get an idea of trends.
So what you are seeing is the TOTAL viewers for Nationally Televised games, each week, Year-Over-Year(From Thursday Night - Monday Night).
Below is the data for Games 1 - 5 of seasons 2014 through 2017.
It's interesting to note, each of the first five games in 2015 saw INCREASES in viewership over 2014. But in 2016, (when Kaper' took a knee), we see the first big decline (almost 10 million less viewers per week). And year over year, 2016-2017 is holding about 10 million less viewers PER WEEK compared to 2014-2015.
They obviously need more government handouts....stop all the tax breaks and having others pay their way/build their stadiums and cities will be vying to keep them out instead of enticing them in....
We know how the owners and the players feel. They despise the fans, disrespect the National Anthem and the American flag and are only concerned about lining their collective pockets with our money. We know they are BS masters and we know that they suck. To support them is to not support America.
Hit ‘em again.
Hit ‘em again.
Harder!
Harder!
I can actually see out my windows now.
Great views out there! :-)
That article in Variety on DirecTV subscriber losses deserves its own thread.
CORRECTION: it should have been games over 230.....doh

They want to show disrespect; well here’s a new version of the Golden Rule, as applied to the NFL:
Do unto the NFL as the NFL does unto you.
Fantastic!!
Thanks for posting!
Apparently the NFL peaked in 2015.
And falling.
That is one of the take-aways ...
They all sponsor the Democratic Party too.
Be my guest
If fans protest to the local franchises it will show you are local and are a customer of the business. If you send to national headquarters it will wind up in the circular file. Much greater impact going local. Better chance of impact reaching headquarters.
Excellent Suggestion.
