The Boy Scouts of America announced plans on Wednesday to accept girls, marking a historic shift for the century-old organization.
The group cited the desire to nurture female leaders as a reason for the decision, pitting it against the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., which operates under a similar mission.
“We strive to bring what our organization does best — developing character and leadership for young people — to as many families and youth as possible as we help shape the next generation of leaders,” said Michael Surbaugh, the group’s chief scout executive.

I have a girl scout and a boy scout in my household. I’d much prefer to have the girl be in boy scouts. That tells you how much of a joke girls scouts has become.
Boys learn to handle fire, cut wood, shoot guns, go on hikes, and live in tents.
Girl scouts go to build a bear, do their cookie thing, and sometimes they learn important things by accident. It has really been gutted by PC. I literally (as the father) cannot drive my daughter around the neighborhood to collect bags during the food drive they do each year. Only a “trained” parent is allowed to drive girls on official functions. There will never be a chance for me to go camping with my daughter in girl scouts because men aren’t allowed. Not even the father. And they don’t go camping because that’s yucky. My wife is a leader and she pulls her hair out trying to get them to do something outdoors but “corporate” runs the show right down to the block level.
It is worth noting that Boy Scouts already have girls in the organization and it works pretty well. The Venturing program allows girls 14 and above and they do the same thing as the boys. I don’t see many complaints about that and its been around for 20 years.
My opinion is that if they stick with the programs the boys do, this will be a net positive. I’d rather girls and boys both get the excellent outdoor training that Boy Scouts delivers.
The Boy Scouts self-destruction continues. They have been fully assimilated into the PC culture. Fortunately, there are alternatives.
I wrote off the BSA years ago when they said it was ok to have homosexuals as scout masters. Now, apparently, it’s even worse.
May the Boy Sodomites and the Girl Sodomites each go to hell.
Sickos. They just cannot stand it that a group of boys might benefit from a time away from girls here and there. And like a convoy having to adjust to the slowest ship, BSA will have to conform fully to whatever makes the girl members feel welcome and happy.

My son in law pulled his boy out of the boy scouts because it was taken over by moms and they were doing “girl stuff” not boy scout stuff even though only boys were involved.
YEARS ago women were allowed in the BSA Explorer program. Something tells me their membership numbers have been declining for a long time.

There used to be an organization called Campfire Girls that sought, among other things, to instill feminine values in girls. The Young Men's Christian Association sponsored the Indian Guides, which taught masculine values to boys while familiarizing them with American Indian culture and facilitating bonding between fathers and sons.
But liberals and leftists infiltrated and then destroyed both. Campfire Girls began recruiting boys and changed its name simply to Campfire. I believe they are now defunct. And the Indian Guides program was phased out for being "racist." Soon the Boy Scouts will be history.
I was fortunate to have been an Indian Guide and a Boy Scout before liberals got their hands on these institutions.

The move to increase the membership of girls in scouting is all about families. Increasingly, women have moved up from cubs to troop leadership positions. Although not in great numbers, girls have been accepted as members of venture crews. So the precedent is already strongly established.
More and more scouting is about families and sisters were left out. In practice, many sisters participate in the family scouting activities as ex officio members.
The family aspect has not been mentioned or even hinted at in the various press blurbs seen today. The family though is at the root of the change.
For the record, our troop had had some girls as venture scouts 14 and older. This year, the troop had the first wedding of college graduated venture scouts.
Queers....... ha. We have a fine church sponsoring institution and 70 adult leaders all of which have biannually reviewed youth protection training. It is not going to be a problem except in the mind of those who didn’t like scouting to begin with.

My husband was a boy scout leader when my son was a Weeblo. He actually worked on badges with the boys.

Okay, now I see the sameness. Baden-Powell set up Scouts as coed, right? And I suppose with ‘gay’ scout leaders as well?
