So according to this story, a maintenance worker named Stephen Schuck was walking down the hall when the first shots came flying down the hallway. And the security guard Campos saved *his* life by screaming for him to "take cover."
At which point, he radioed to the hotel dispatch that someone was shooting with an automatic rifle on the 32nd floor.
So now we find out that the hotel knew *before* anyone fired on the crowd that there was an active shooter on the 32nd floor...
I never said a second shooter had to be in the hotel. As far as I know no one has said a second shooter had to be in the hotel.
There are many places from which a second shooter could have fired from cover.
In fact, from a ballistics standpoint the second shooter should have been closer.
Was Weinstein involved too?
Considering people were running in all directions, it would be difficult to hide another shooter.
A person with a repeating rifle shooting down could have easily caused this many casualties, especially when people decided to lie down.
Has anybody checked the room across the hall? May be full of dead bodies. FBI?
on another thread previous day or so, some one posted that Campos was responding to a room occupant saying they heard drilling.
This isn’t directed to you, but your response caused me to consider it again.
Too many people talking and not enough checking and thinking.
I’m not here to say we never get mislead, but an event like this will have literally thousands of folks telling different stories, each telling what they believe to be true.
I watched several video special reports by people on the scene. They were breathless telling anyone watching what they found out. (nobody else knew)
It was terribly juvenile. At the end of the video, you shake your head, “That was it?”
To the creator, it made a lot of sense. Sure didn’t to me.
About all this winds up doing is exploding exponentially so that folks begin to mistrust everyone from the man on the street, to law enforcement, to the FBI, the government...
Very very destructive.
As if there is some reason to lie about what happened, so something important would be gained.
D E S T R U C T I V E !
And IMO, our enemies couldn’t be happier.
You don’t have to commit a terrorist act. You just start 10,000 questions, and the populace will splinter and hate the government you wanted them to.
Sad things is, as a people we do this, participate in this for the Jihadists.
ISIS, you’re welcome!
Folks, dial it back. Please.
Maybe after the bullets stopped, maintenance guy went to get a key...even though campos had one.

Excellent question... did he figure that they were about to see the cameras on the service cart and they would be beating on his door anyway trying to find out what was going on? The question goes hand in hand with the one of why did he stop shooting after 10 minutes when he had lots of ammo left? And why did he arrive in LV with tons more ammo and other materials left in his vehicle that never got used?

There is no room across the hall. There is a stairwell. The main entrance to Paddock’s Suite was a double door facing down a long hallway with rooms on each side. It was a Looooog hallway and ended at the elevator. There’s a few good pictures of the hallway.
IIRC, the story talked about Paddock having installed some kind of bar across the door, which likely set off the door alarm, hence the guard/maintenance guy. Paddock may have thought they were going to see the bar on the door, which triggered the start. Too many moving pieces to be convinced, though . . .
He panicked? Dude was on drugs.
Agreed and here's another aspect that occurs to me.... Agreement on a timeline for what happened seems to be an every changing thing but it sounds like shooting started 6 to 8 minutes after the MB security and maintenance guys were shot at. Then shooting out the window went on for 10 1/2 minutes. Not sure what happened to the maintenance guy after the shooting started but apparently the security fellow was still there when the police arrived. By my reckoning, this means that if police were there within 20 minutes, this means that they were never actually on the floor when there was any shooting going on out the window... in fact, the security guy could have reported to them when they arrived that "good to see you.... just so you know, the shooting stopped 5 minutes ago."... or something like that. It would have been interesting to be a fly on the wall at that point to find out what they cops were discussing as to what they were going to do but in the end, their delay in breaching the door really didn't make any difference with respect to what Paddock was doing in the room.
I've mentioned here before that I've wondered if they sent a drone up the side of the building to look into the window and could see that Paddock was already on the floor. The other possibility is that they have a robot with a camera that went down to the end of the hallway to look through the holes in the door or using other heat sensing technology to ascertain that there was no movement any more on the other side......at that point, they went more slowly only because of the possibility that someone else could be hidden motionless in the room in a part that couldn't be seen or they went slow because of the fact that the door could have been booby trapped. I'm going to bet that they already knew that Paddock was dead very shortly after arriving on the floor and definitely long before the door was breached. I suspect that one of the reasons we are hearing so little information (and conflicting information) is that they don't actually want to reveal what capabilities they all have at their disposal.

What happens at the Mandalay Bay stays at the Mandalay Bay!
Shooting may have occurred prior to the security guy showing up and he did not hear the initial volley.
It would not be difficult to hide a shooter in many places in an elevated or semi-elevated position inside of a 100 to 200 yard radius from the middle of the field of fire. If they have proper cover and concealment - and are firing suppressed, they may very well go unnoticed. And because of the confusion created by the automatic rifle fire, it would be very easy for them to escape as well.
Hell, the DC sniper killed people from the trunk of a car...and they found him by accident - not through investigative prowess...
And the ballistics/physics don’t question that casualties (or how many) could have been caused by an automatic rifle firing from the 32nd floor, 350+/- yards away, at at thirty degree negative angle. Instead they question the *characteristics* of some of the wounds.
Barrel movement alone would make it nearly impossible for three consecutive shots to hit a single target at that range, at that angle, using a bump-fire stock on *any* weapon. And it would be damn near impossible for two shots to hit a single target - but there were reports of victims with multiple GSWs on the scene. And one of those was written about extensively in the press so it can’t be excused as confused cops/paramedics reporting inaccurate data during the chaos.
Those are valid points and I agree, too much idle chatter with nothing to back it up and a cloud of mistrust is not helpful.
I had a random thought last night, just hear me out - I’m wondering (as you mentioned that isis is none to happy with this garbage floating around), any enemy that desires to take us down and fears the ‘rifle behind every blade’ would certainly have a stake in working to aid the anti 2nd amendment traitors in any way they could. It just opens up a host of avenues of just who/what could really be behind some of the events that create the chaos we see now.
