Hollywood was down on Charlie Chaplin when he made The Great Dictator because we still hadn’t entered the war and they hated to lose Germany as a potential market.
Today Hollywood cowers before China so as not to offend.

I remember “the good ol’ days” (in my best John Wayne Shootist voice) when “Hollywood” got mad because Chinese theaters would be showing blockbuster hits within a day after they released in America.
