Brad Pitt was one of the only men in Hollywood to confront Harvey Weinstein after hearing that Weinstein had allegedly made unwanted sexual advances toward his young love interest. It was back in the 1990s before Pitt blossomed into the major star he is today, revealed a source.
According to People Magazine, this source said Brad Pitt got wind of Weinstein allegedly sexually harassing Gwyneth Paltrow right around the time she was just hired by Weinstein for the lead role in Emma. She said Weinstein made unwanted sexual advances toward her in a hotel room. Paltrow was only 22 at the time.
Pitt was taking a chance as far as his career goes, suggests this source, as he wasnt a big star at the time in Hollywood. He took that chance and history indicates it didnt seem to hold him back.
Pitt went on to later work with Weinstein in the movie Inglourious Basterds, which was filmed in 2009. The source said it was Brads relationship with Quentin Tarantino that got him to do that part. It had nothing to do with Weinstein.
What exactly happened with Weinstein and Gwyneth isnt detailed for the public, but it reportedly ended with him placing his hands on her and suggesting a massage, writes People.
The Daily Mail reports that Paltrow rebuffed him and fled before Weinstein could do anything. Then later she told Pitt about the encounter, setting the wheels in motion for his confrontation with Weinstein.
It was at a Hollywood party circa 1995 when Brad Pitt reportedly confronted Weinstein. The source said,
He got right in his face, poked him in the chest and said, You will not ever do this to Gwyneth ever again.' The source went on to say that Brad told Weinstein if it ever happened again, there would be consequences, which was described by Pitt to Weinstein as a Missouri whooping. That is the state Pitt hails from, as he grew up in Springfield, Missouri.
The source claimed that at first Weinstein tried to come to his own defense, but Brad wasnt stopping, so Weinstein stopped talking and listened to what the young actor had to say. Pitt made it very clear that it wasnt to ever happen again, and the source said it didnt.
This same source sang praises for Pitt as being one of the only men in Hollywood who stood up and said something. Then the source added, Thats a fact. While Weinstein got the message, he allegedly still called Gwyneth on the phone to lambaste her for telling Pitt.
She said Weinstein threatened her not to speak to anyone else about it. According to People Magazine, Paltrow told the New York Times in an interview that when he called her, I thought he was going to fire me. He screamed at me for a long time. It was brutal.

Mythmaking and revisionist history.
There are words and there are deeds.
Talk comes cheap. Silence is worth contracts and payoffs.
Ok I’ll give him credit for this ..but this white knighting has another angle. Why do “strong, independent women” always end up looking to a man to solve their problems?
Now that right there is funny!
If he had, he would have been destroyed and never worked again in Hollywood
Truth be told, the stories we are hearing from a lot of actresses are more what they wished they could have done, not what they actually did at the time.
At least for the actresses who went on to land major film deals, its more likely the Weinstein private “ auditions” were legit tests of acting skills with Oscar worthy Meg Ryan approved performances of how much they loved their back rubs and potted plants with ol’ Harvey
I’m thinking that Obama’s daughter was one of the honeypots who was present when the targets arrived (to make things seem wafe) and then left the room when instructed to.
Fake news...Pitt was an enabler.
He gave up his man card years ago
I call BS
Hollywood was down on Charlie Chaplin when he made The Great Dictator because we still hadn’t entered the war and they hated to lose Germany as a potential market.
Today Hollywood cowers before China so as not to offend.
Same here. All it means to me is there is no evidence of Pitt actually supporting Harv at any time.
Might improve his image a bit.
Carved.
May fault. You’re right.
> But, other than that, NOT EVERYONE KNEW. Right, Meryl Streep!? <
And right, Barack Obama? And right, Hillary Clinton?
Pitt is the last man standing in Hollywierd.
And yet these people knew about this crap going on for 30 years and just now say something? How brave...
Pitt is not a man. He did nothing about it like a liberal coward to protect his career. Angelina Jolie said it happened to her too. Where was Mr Fight Club then?
“Pitt is the last man standing in Hollyweird.”
Yes, since the headline isn’t DIRECTLY related to politics.
Clint Eastwood, even Tom Selleck before Pitt.
Technically, though, Tim Allen (Mike Baxter) is the Last Man Standing in Hollyweird, although in reruns.
Also, he didn’t actually carry out the “Missouri ass-whooping”, he only threatened it. Should have actually done it.
“And yet these people knew about this crap going on for 30 years and just now say something? How brave...”
Hard really, not to blame EVERYONE in Hollywood, just like I blame EVERY MEMBER of the US House of Representatives (yes, you too, Trey, for six years) for the Fraud’s crimes against America.
What I’d be interested to know is whether the “That’s NONSENSE, impeachment charges wouldn’t have done any good” crowd here believes the same about everyone in Hollywood who for 30 years knew and never did anything about HWeinstein.
