Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has reportedly said he would be prepared to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in an attempt to bring "permanent peace" to the Korean Peninsula.
"Should former President Carter be able to visit North Korea, he would like to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and discuss a peace treaty between the United States and the North, and a complete denuclearization of North Korea," Park Han-shik, professor of international affairs at the University of Georgia, said in an interview published by South Korea's JoongAng Daily on Tuesday.
Park claimed that Carter visited his home at the end of September and told him that he wanted to "contribute toward establishing a permanent peace regime on the Korean Peninsula."
Carter's comments could further aggravate President Donald Trump after media reports surfaced last month which said a senior U.S. state department official had been sent by the White House to ask Carter not to speak publicly about the geopolitical crisis.

Because Jimmuh did so MUCH to bring peace to the muddled East.
Jimmy; what is it with you,
that we’re stumped at the letter ‘Q’?
Twas a quite simple quest
using all of the rest;
Go help out Quito, Peru!
Is that the 21st century equivalent of "peace in our time"?
Go for it, Jimmy.
The problem with the idea though is that the whole Kim-god thing falls apart without the constant state of war in North Korea. You going over and let’s say you give in to virtually every demand of North Korea - that’s it, game over for North Korea; the peninsula would be one country within 10 years.
But I’m always entertained by liberals falling flat, so please, show us how it’s done.
Bravo! A tour de force!
Jimmy? Who????
Jimmy Carter. Living proof that only the good die young.
I say send Jimma over there, and THEN start the war! It’s just a suggestion...take it or leave it.
Because Jimmy Carter foeign policy deals always work out so well....for our enemies.
Trying to be our Chamberlain.
“He gave away Czechoslavakia to gain time?”
That was nice of him.
I really think he was just ignorant. Just like modern day liberals.
I would point out that only the dead have a chance for “permanent peace”.
If only Jimmy Carter had been born earlier, he could have negotiated a permanent peace with Nazi Germany... /s
Carter?!? Lol....even old cucks gotta cuck.
Don’t forget:
Jimmy was taking handouts from two people on Saddam Hussein’s Oil Voucher list...
“Eh. Probably wouldnt hurt. Why not?”
Perhaps you missed some of your High School history lessons. Back in the ‘90’s Bubba Clinton was too busy to deal with North Korea and the problems they were causing. Jammah Cahtah stepped in, saying he would volunteer to lead some talks to defuse the situation
The way it ended was Jammah offered/and the Norks agreed to receive (at U.S. cost) a light water reactor to provide electricity for the people. Sounds great, huh? Jammah beamed as Jammah does.
With the help of the Pakistani’s, the reactor was turned into a heavy water reactor useful for only one thing — making nukes!
Net, the person to thank for the situation we now have is Jammah who now wants to come in and unscrew the situation which he screwed up in the first place.
I say, feed him to the Zimbabweans!
