Getting upset about Columbus Day is peak Antifa absurdity by Nicole Russell | Oct 9, 2017, 11:23 AM
If you like Starbucks, Google, Facebook or your freedom not to like them (why wouldn't you?) you can thank Christopher Columbus, explorer, navigator -- and, in 2017's political arena, rabble-rouser. In other words, Monday is Columbus Day: Are you ready to be offended?
In honor of the day an adventurous but flawed man trekked all the way to the New World with a crew of men on a few ships, social justice warriors, and even Antifa, are gearing up to protest -- because nothing says thanks to the man who discovered the Americas like Americans holding a protest. Antifa declared Monday "Deface Columbus Day" and other groups have declared it "Indigenous Peoples Day."
Despite all the hubbub, Columbus Day is worth celebrating.
A group of folks who agree have launched an initiative to clear up misconceptions and counter liberal radicals and Antifa efforts to target Columbus via a new website.
In a statement, Patrick Korten of the National Christopher Columbus Association, the civic organization that maintains the site said:
Up to now, the campaign of flawed history and misinformation against Columbus has been allowed to proceed with barely any pushback.

Amen. Second it.
And they enslaved other tribes.
Yup
And as this anti Columbus crap gains steam, then we will have to not only rip down statues, but change names of various places.
Isn’t Columbia University named in honor of Columbus?
Columbia, South Carolina? Columbus, Ohio?
The District of Columbia??
Just how far will this go?
Stay tuned.
I work in NYC and I am curious how they are going to handle Columbus Circle. I think a few Maximum Morons tried to make a stink about it but the majority of even the most leftists schmucks in NYC aren’t big on changing landmarks, so they appear to be letting that one slide. Big of them.
Anyone who destroys is a terrorist, that's what they do.
Columbia Glacier...
The Left has been after Columbus Day for a long time. Russell Means used to show up in Denver every year with his gang and throw horse manure at our feet as we Italians marched through downtown Denver. That was over 20 years ago. They would lay in the street and delay the start of the parade by an hour.
Columbus is a symbol of white oppression to the Left.
Trust me, the Boys on Mulberry St, in Ozone Park and Bensonhurst will still have their say on that...
Maybe that’s the reason... but I suspect there’s also an elitism involved... as in: we can keep our racism because we’re special.
I remember an early morning drive by radio host saying the same thing. Why the native Americans groups saying anything?
Because a local election is coming up.
One factor could certain individuals or groups having pull in NYC.
And if it weren’t Columbus, it would have been someone else.
There was no stopping the exploration that was happening at the time.
It was just a matter of who got there first.
I would like one of these antifa idiots to show me anywhere, any time that has been better for black people than 2017 USA. ANYWHERE, ANY TIME! Are any of the peoples’ republics around the world better? Are there any black run nations that have more opportunity and plenty? Why does anyone pay any attention to these whiners? If you can’t make it here, you can’t make it anywhere.
What?
What?
And your problem is?
A sphincter says what?
p.s. (you know)
